Re: Ball surface on THS question
Unless you go to urethane or a weak short pin layout, that style is not going to allow straighter angles

Early rev Radical balls
Radical peeps, what balls in the lineup would you consider early revving balls? For me, symmetricals like the Turmoil solid are late revving and Vapor Zone revs early. Since my move in April from Tampa to Buffalo, my new center has old wood lanes with free hook outside of 5 board but the heads seem ...

Buy a used 14 and see if you like it. If not, consider smoother surface to give more length

Re: Are Fall leagues possible (and what is the limit?)
I think that applies to all of New York. I've been disappointed with the lack of transparency of the process of getting things going and the lack of communication. I've had to do more communicating to bowlers than the BPAA has. So I found out our restrictions for league in Buffalo. They have shower...

Re: What do you pay with for bowling? Everything?
With the points/cash back rewards/travel miles etc.. they offer it’s smart to use a card. I agree to have the cash first but just use the card and pay the balance off at the end of the month so you don’t get hit with interest. Gets your credit score higher and you get something for the same amount o...

Re: Are Fall leagues possible (and what is the limit?)
That is not the state mandate. It is masks at all times, 50% capacity and every other LANE. https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-announces-bowling-alleys-can-reopen-50-percent-capacity-starting-monday Ok, thanks. My center wasn’t opening until today and didn’t know what was happening. Th...

Do whatever you feel comfortable with that meets your state’s requirements. Consult with your area OSHA inspectors

Whatever your state allows. NY opens Monday and it’s 50% capacity skipping a pair in between. See how it goes

Re: USBC Nationals for 2020 Cancelled - good or bad thing?
Yes since restaurants, youth sports, bars, malls, Casinos, hotels etc can employ measures to keep people safe but bowling alleys can’t doesn’t have any logic.

No thumbers/2hands need urethane more to keep their angles in front of them.

Re: Returning to bowling after COVID Shutdown
I’m an OSHA inspector with the Air Force, workers are decontaminating everything touched daily. But there’s still an accepted risk no matter what implementations are made. As far as drinking disinfectant, we’ve been recommending workers to gargle types of Antiseptic mouthwash as the virus is known t...
