Re: High diff. core/low flare layout vs. med diff/regular layout
This thread is great & deserving of a bump. Thanks to all for contributing. I've re-read several times and making notes as I learn & ponder my two main centers' different conditions & equipment choice / drilling. Love the science & logic behind this. Cheers!

Re: Bowling games price increase
I'm grateful that a few lanes around here still have evening specials 2-3 hours for $5-10. Otherwise $3.75-$5+ per game. The newer Headpinz centers have very high hourly rates that I don't bother with, but are fine if there's big parties of 4-6 per lane and happy with maybe 1 game pp. It really does...

Ball Speed vs Rev Rate Chart
Found & saved this for good measure. Agree? Best to be matched #3?? https://i.pinimg.com/originals/62/7b/20/627b20930989c832a9512738479f7530.jpg Q: How much difference is there (roughly) from the speed at release to that which most houses pick up & show on screen? I know they won't be same o...

Re: Radical's Article on No-Thumb Drilling Patterns
Great to hear he's in Tampa. I'm just S in Fort Myers. Would love to talk with him some time, maybe have him fit my ball for drilling...after I've learned a ton more from you fine people that is.

Re: No Thumb - One handed??
Interesting point & much appreciated, as I'm trying to learn this all. --why this site is so great-- From what I saw & read repeatedly, the Baller is pretty versatile for a stronger reaction ball. That said, I hope it's not too tight in it's snap range so to say. How close to what you just r...

Re: Radical's Article on No-Thumb Drilling Patterns
Great share Stacy. Thanks for showing me a current pro who does this. Any idea what his ball speed is? - seems plenty fast. Ball weight?
Really helps to see this & compare. I plan to take some video tomorrow.

Re: Radical's Article on No-Thumb Drilling Patterns
^ Exactly. I'll prob. experiment with thumb drills on my old garbage Gyro poly now that I have a couple good balls. Think I'll refine some other big & small parts of my game first. Despite my initial concerns, it's not the end of the world if I end up switching & get a few balls redrilled.

Re: No Thumb - One handed??
Thanks for following up. Great post & video share SLMRCS. You sure have a lot in your arsenal! I'm only on my first REAL ball fit for me & just got polish w/ Abrelon pads coming to experiment with too. I've also definitely noticed a limitation on my back swing and unstable release at times b...

Re: Male & Female Technique, Equipment, & Scores
Keep in mind that many folks do not know what they look like during bowling, ergo the importance of video or a reliable witness ... Agreed. I've been watching in full mirror while practicing approach at home & taking notes. Making small changes 1 at time then going to late night lane time to tr...

Re: Male & Female Technique, Equipment, & Scores
Thanks all. Interesting info & vids. Seems to confirm my feelings on it, as did this vid: Seems a pretty marginal difference in pin impact all things considered. My ball speed and revs seem more important tha...

Male & Female Technique, Equipment, & Scores
As a male bowler I'm just getting into my own equipment for the first time and using a 14# to ensure I develop good technique and steady control, yet I rarely ever see or hear what the pros use...presumably 16#, with some going 15#? I've never even bowled league yet. What about the ladies? I don't g...

Radical's Article on No-Thumb Drilling Patterns
Pretty insightful article. I'm new to this and learning as I've always been no-thumb one-handed. Now have a Resurgence drilling for me (in Full Roller layout of all things!?), but seeking possible use of a thumb. Comments on this article would be helpful as I work with a coach to determine my specs ...

Starion, be sure to check out the forum wiki if you have not already done so. Check all the sections, walk the isles so to speak. Since you have recently added the thumb as a variable, check this article on the wiki http://wiki.bowlingchat.net/wiki/index.php?title=Reducing_Grip_Pressure" oncli...

Good call with the upgrade. Very much needed. This is def. one of the older of the forums I'm active in. I don't envy your challenge in trimming the fat and reintegrating to the new setup, but appreciate it! Lots of great content here for bowlers wanting to learn & up their experience like me. :...

Re: ISO Info on switch from two fingered Full Roller to thum
Nice! I love me some nicely brewed beer! Stouts, Porters, Brown Ales esp. IPAs are cool, but overplayed IMO. UPDATE on first session with new ball: **NOTE** This was the FIRST TIME EVER that I've had a ball with finger holes that actually FIT my skinny digits. ALL previous experience was with bigger...

Re: ISO Info on switch from two fingered Full Roller to thum
“How do you want to see the ball move”? It is very hard to replicate the movement created by adding thumb. If you’re wanting to hook the whole lane, I’d suggest a partial thumb in so it gives you some control back. TBH I'd like it to move similar to where I'm at, but with a more steady and consiste...

Happy to keep a general discussion on 1 hand thumbless going here. Others' experiences, thoughts, etc.

Re: ISO Info on switch from two fingered Full Roller to thum
Thanks Boomer!! Awesome response! :) Why this antiquated phpBB doesn't allow a second + vote of reputation "so soon after previous" (ummm 20+ mins??) is beyond me! :? (apparently "CTRL + U" doesn't = underline text but - loads code :? ) But I digress... Great input on the differe...
