Re: Rate/Review - The System - DVD - Mark Baker
I have both the book and the dvd and they are excellent. I was also fortunate to have two one on one lessons with Mark in both 2015 and 2016. For a little background I turned 77 this april and I usually bowl ABT tournaments, which are once a week on Sundays using sport shots and are handicapped. In ...

Re: gonna be replacing my misfit pearl...what to get
decided to get a urethane ball since i have never had a good urethane ball. i narrowed it down to the tank rampage or btu pearl i compared the 2 balls using the ball comparison on bowlingthismonth.com. the strange thing is that it says the pearl has less length than the tank which surprises me cons...

Re: Layout for Ball on Reverse Blocks
I would utilize a Strong ball with a Sport layout for short oil and play outside in the Heavy oil. On something like the Storm Lock ..... 30-5.5-70 If you are set on trying to use Asymmetrical Plastic I would use your Benchmark layout 35-4.5-50. The Scout-R ...... PBA Plastic ball drilling. http://...

Re: Layout for a small sport arsenal
The Track Mako is Not Asymmetrical at 13#. It is a Symmetrical, I emailed the company and asked. I hope you get this before you invest in the Mako. Unfortunately I have all ready ordered the Mako and it is at my PSO shop and I'm going tomorrow to get it drilled. When I looked at the Mako on tracks ...

Layout for Ball on Reverse Blocks
I have been looking to add one new ball to my sport arsenal for the sole purpose of shooting on a reverse block that only happens about 5 times a year at a house in my bay area ABT. all other houses put out sport shots. I have narrowed down my selection to a widow spare, track spare + or a columbia ...

Re: Layout for a small sport arsenal
I would seriously consider an Asym for long oil. Its late and I don't have time to shop for balls for you. I would encourage you to research some balls to be considered for layout recommendations. Post what you think would fit your needs and I will be glad to help with the layouts. I am a lefty whi...

Layout for a small sport arsenal
I am soon to be 77 year old and the only bowling I do is at our local ABT branch in the Bay Area of California. I just had my specs re-measured as it has been five years since I last had it done. Over the last year I have gone down to 13 lbs from 14 lbs and although I sometimes threw 14's I am now u...

Re: How can we save bowling?
These comments are directed to Bowlingforbeers and Megamav. Bowlingforbeers you don't get the distinction between a recreational activity and a sport. No one is arguing that bowling as a sport has been in decline for many years and owners have done what they think will make them money by making cond...

Re: How can we save bowling?
I agree mostly with what everybody has said. I am a 76 year old bowler who only bowls at my local ABT, which puts out sport conditions and is handicapped in the bay area of california. Tournaments used to be a saturday and sunday affair but due to declining participation they have as of this March g...

Benchmark Layout
I recently went down to 13 lb weight balls and I had my new PSO measure my fit and get my specs. I am a Lefty who is 76 years young and doesn't bowl leagues presently but bowls weekends as a member of the Amateurs Bowlers Tour. The shots are all sport shots no THS. My new specs since my old ones wer...

Re: weak 10 pin
On what board did the ball leave the pin deck? It is very important to see where the ball leaves the pin deck and not many people do that. For a lefty on a perfect strike the ball will hit the 1, the 2, the 5, and split the 8 and the 9 in half. Your ball most likely didn't hit the 8 so in that case...

Re: weak 10 pin
I always remember in the above180 podcast "Ball Drilling for Dummies" Mo Pinel said that every ten pin is caused by deflection, we give them different names because we just like to feel better about ourselves. In fact every back row pin, except the 9 for right handers or the 8 for lefties...

Re: Visionary Bowling Balls
Previous 13lb cores were the same as the 14-16 lb cores, just obviously less dense. I have not directly asked Jason about the current lineup, but I would assume that they are the same also. Thanks, I've had an email conversion with Jason and that was his answer (less dense). I've ordered the crow a...

Thanks, that's was the answer I was looking for.MathIsTruth wrote:
The density of the core is changed to attain the various weight of balls. So yes the cores are generally the same size for 14-16 pound balls but they will weigh different because they have different densities but the same volume.

Cores 14-16 lb balls
I have been told that although the shape and size cores are the same in balls 14-16, they actually don't weigh the same. Is that true, any explanation would be greatly appreciated.
