Re: How to finish fall leagues
We are just doing whatever the percentage was when we canceled the rest of the season. Steve

Re: Arm Injury
Had my MRI and just read the report on it. The rotator cuff is not torn but the long head biceps is torn and retracted. I have to talk to the doctor but that is on hold till the coronavirus is over. I think I will be able to bowl right handed still. I may go to a 14 lb ball though. Once I see the do...

Re: Arm Injury
Here's hoping for a complete recovery. I had injured and reinjured my right hand a long time ago. The league voted to let me finish the season left handed. I painted a white stripe down the back and wore it as my bowling shirt! I recently became aware of this website and posted the link and a few v...

Re: Arm Injury
Thanks Eric and John, Had my doctor visit today and they did x-ray the area and what we know for sure is a torn bicep muscle. They want a MRI done to check the severity and if I have any rotator damage Dr. thinks there will be a partial tear but wants the mri to see what treatment. My bowling season...

Re: Arm Injury
Thanks for the replys. I have to wait till Monday to have it looked at and have to stop thinking the worse. I did talk to my primary care MD and he thinks it may be a ligamnet that I might not need? It's all speculation now. I am not in a huge amount of pain and it looks a lot worse (bruised from my...

Hi All, After 2 hip replacements and a couple of years I finally was getting back to bowling the way I did before stopping back in 2001. So my shoulder has been sore but getting better the last 6 weeks. On my leaque tuesday in the first game I was throwing at a 10 pin and I had a severe pain in my r...

Re: Changing Span and Thumb Pitch
I have had chance to throw a few games with the new span/thumb pitch. I bowled on a fresh THS last night and like the way I threw it. It is less stress on my hand and clears my hand good. I have never had good luck with this ball Roto Grip Hyper Cell Slid with the layout I had on it 50 x 3.5 x 45 wi...

Re: Changing Span and Thumb Pitch
I visited my pro shop today and we took a look at my span. He agreed it was long so I had a old Hyper Cell Skid that we put a 1 1/2" thumb slug in it and shortened my span 1/4" (from 4 1/8" to 3 7/8"). We also changed my thumb pitch from 1/4" reverse and 1/8" under to 0...

Changing Span and Thumb Pitch
Hi, I have been reading about the modern span and thumb pitches and being summer and no leagues I would like to experiment with it. My span and thumb have been the same for over 30 years and want to try something new as in a shorter span and less reverse in the thumb. When I lay my hand over the bal...

Re: Summer leagues
No summer leaques for me. Don't like to be tied to a leaque in the summer. I will go out and practice when I want. Most the houses I bowl at have specials durning the summer and the shot is reasonable. I would like to practice on a sport shot but don't see that happening. Steve

Re: No black tape
I use the black tape when I need to in the back of the thumb. I have been using the blue hada tape on my thumb because of a rubbing issue on the side of my thumb. I like to get out of the ball quick and this seems to work for me. Steve

Re: Lane Transition
Thanks for the video and suggestions. Norm makes good points and I try to anticipate what the lanes are doing. If I see the better players leaving 4 pins or spits and move off of them or if I leave a 4. I could be getting tired but don't feel tired. Focus..maybe. I have already moved up a foot on th...

Re: Lane Transition
Thanks for the input guys. the 187 game was 4 ring tens,4 pin and 4 strikes. the 161 after thinking about it I made some bad shots 2 flat tens and 1 ring ten. So still confused a little. I watch whos throwing where and what all night. All reactive and only one was inside of me as I typically play in...

Lane Transition
Hi All, The last 2 nights in league play I have shot real good the first 2 games and fall apart the 3rd game. I went 245,279,187 one night and 258,275,161 last night. Can the lanes change that much or am I just not throwing it well? I always move in a couple boards the third game and seem to be hitt...

Re: Would this be a good idea?
Just a update on this thread. Had a Halo Pearl drilled 70x4x40. So far I like it it. In league last night had 25 strikes over 3 games. Still had 7 ten pins but heading in the right direction. I did find out that I need to really get through the shot hard for the best pin carry too. Thanks you for yo...
Re: PAP
Thanks for the information guys. I thought since I had a track on my spare ball it would be worth checking because my spare ball has no flare. I mapped out a ball with both PAP measurements an it changed the layout about 5 degrees on both angles and pin to pap a little. I am going to mark a cople ba...
PAP
Hi, I have more questions than answers. Would my plastic spare ball that has a decent track in it be a good way for a true Positive Axis Point. I don't change my release for spares and the ball has no flare. I have a PAP of 5 1/4 flat when my PSO looks at it. He has a stub lane that you can throw on...

Re: An Inconvenient Truth, the death of league bowling ???
In my area the leagues in area are still doing well. There seems to be a bowling alley shutting down every couple of years so the leagues have to go to the houses that still are open. Steve
