Re: Sticky / Sweaty / Moist INSIDE & OUTSIDE of THUMB
TonyPR yes, Nichiban is correct! A great tape and will stay on the thumb long enough. I actually know few guys that use tape a bit similar way than you do! Recently I tried this brunswick tape which is a bit more rough and thicker. I would not recommend it if used all around the thumb though. I love...

Re: Sticky / Sweaty / Moist INSIDE & OUTSIDE of THUMB
Many people uses Hada-type of bowling tape in their thumb. I would suggest you to buy a roll of tape if you want to experiment (not pre-cut) and cut it in to desired pieces. Some bowlers put this tape all over their thumb and some uses this only in the nail side. If you put the tape only to the knuc...

Bowling-related apps for mobile devices
Looking for recommendations on useful bowling-related apps. I prefer iPad, but feel free to post apps for android too. Not only for video editing but I would also like to store my drilling, gear and layout information, track scores and equipment used etc. Yesterday I stumbled upon this app called Bo...

Re: Sore Hip
I have been dealing with a slide leg pain a lot recently. In my case the problem was in the lower back. The most common reason for this issue is doing office work and not enough exercise (stretching, gym, cardio etc.). I personally noticed that not doing any physical training and bowling 6 times in ...

Re: grip layout...
One method that I have seen many times is that a pso uses a caliber to scratch tiny lines to the ball surface. Not maybe the best option but gets the job done using method C. I have some balls fitted with this method. It is easy to adjust the span when plugging fingers but thumb beveling must be not...

Re: Tiered oval thumb
We've had this concept in our wiki since 2010, well before Mr Slowinski's article. http://wiki.bowlingchat.net/wiki/index.php?title=Two_Stage_Bevel" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; As far as the link above (wiki) is concerned it is about a different thing. The wiki article i...

Re: Bevelling advice needed
Thank you all for answers. I have gone through many different fittings and technigues (ADT,CLT, 3d-printed thumb, tiered taping etc.). Only recently I have developed this callous to the base of my thumb. It is hard to see from the pictures but it is actually so big that I think it would require almo...

Bevelling advice needed
Dear fellow bowlers, I’m in need of advice for bevelling my thumb hole. In my search for a great fit I think I’m finally getting close to something bearable. However from my previous attempts (and from a lot of bowling) I have developed a little callous to my thumb base. With this callous and the sh...

Re: The Measurements. Ball or Paper.
The span can differ a little when measured on paper vs. bowling ball. I measured my hand with normal copyscanner when planning ADT-drilling. I took a scan from my hand and printed it to paper. Then measured the span etc. from the paper. The advantage of using this copyscanner is that the picture is ...

Re: Back to the future - A 3D-printed thumbslug
It seems that my few "days" out of the office have turned into weeks. I've been very busy lately so it has slowed down these experiments. Yesterday I went to the local bowling center and we filled/drilled my thumb hole to a straight 1 3/8" hole so i can start testing these printed slu...

Re: THUMB ISSUES
I've had a lot of similar problems. Actually, my thumb shape is pretty much similar to yours. What is most likely causing this for me is not the grip pressure, but the geometry of the thumb. From the thumb joint towards the nail (in the palm side) the thumb shapes like a potato and the skin is squee...

Re: Back to the future - A 3D-printed thumbslug
I would not worry about whether the material (PETg) is strong enough. It is also glued in to other material. Well, if for some reasons it break there is many other materials to print (nylon for example). For the interchangeable thumb design in the future my plan is to use the existing frame, drill t...

Back to the future - A 3D-printed thumbslug
After getting tired to plug’n drill - hit or miss experiments with ADT, wikifit and all the other methods I have gone through I thought I need some easier method to play a little with my thumb angle and shape. I don’t have my own pro-shop equipment so I must drive around 70km to make a new drilling ...

Re: Slowin ski drilling method
I had three balls drilled before the pitch guideline was emailed to me. My conversations with him on these matters left me feeling a bit nonplused. For example, on the facebook group I asked about his finger pitch chart, since it recommended far less reverse pitch than I was currently using. His re...

Re: My review of Joe Slowinski's Anatomic Drilling Technique
after a couple weeks experimenting, this grip is not for me. Hand feels great going in. Must get my hand on the outside of the ball to clear. rotation is higher, and tilt is lower. No Bueno... Have you made the starting fittings properly to the ADT recommendations? I had the same problem when i had...

Re: My review of Joe Slowinski's Anatomic Drilling Technique
Added 1/16 reverse but the rubbing / hitting of top left hand side of thumb nail is still there. I don't have this issue with T-Line drill with all zero thumb pitch. Revisited http://wiki.bowlingchat.net/wiki/index.php?title=Jayhawk_Fitting_Tips" onclick="window.open(this.href);return fal...
