Thanks for your input Dustin?, he's keen to improve his rev rate now it's been measured, and i reckon we can get it up to 200rpm before long, so i had that in mind too with my calculations.

Dean

Layout check for Speed Dominant bowler
hi guys, i was just after some input for the benchmark layouts i worked out for a 62 year-old right hand old bowler. his PAP is 6 1/4" across and 7/8" up - and he sometimes tracks over his thumb with the initial oil lines (his release is a bit inconsistent). Speed: 16 mph (at 3rd arrow) Re...

Re: Benchmark and Midlane layouts checked please
Great, thanks for your feedback Mo and elgavachon. I'm not quite sure yet what constitutes speed dominant to the point where you go further left on the ratio chart, i figured she was borderline with the high rotation too. I will readjust the layouts based on the 1.25:1 benchmark, and I'm assuming my...

g'day all i am looking to see what you think for the layouts i worked out for a right hand female bowler who consistently has the following stats: PAP - 4 ½” across and 9/16” up Speed: 15.5mph (measured to 3rd arrow) RPM: 200 Tilt: 15 degrees Rotation: 80 degrees Slightly speed dominant, normal tilt...

Re: Layout for 0 degree tilt/ rev dominant bowler
Yeah, we're working on his ball speed now, will post again when he isn't so rev dominant and has some tilt. he has been self taught up to this point but is keen as mustard.

Re: Layout for 0 degree tilt/ rev dominant bowler
he tracks pretty high but isn't a full roller.
the speed was measured from the foul line to the 3rd arrow, and his PAP is:
5 5/8" across and 1/8" up.
thanks.

Layout for 0 degree tilt/ rev dominant bowler
Hi All, I'm trying to work out the best layout for a right hand bowler with the following specs: Speed – 15 mph RPM – 360 rpm Rotation – 60 degrees Tilt – 0 degrees As you can see, he is very rev dominant, with very low tilt and slightly high rotation. He is bowling on house patterns, and as you cou...

Re: Swing hight
So how does Doug get his higher? A small part is probably this: http://www.bowl4fun.com/ron/tip41_files/tip41.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; But that surely cant be all. So he must be helping it. But when? And how long? I tried helping the swing, but it felt really wro...

Benchmark Layout for lower tilt, high rotation bowler please
Hi, I measured a high ave. female bowler today who had the following stats: Righty Ave Speed (off hand): 15.3 mph Ave RPM: 180-200rpm Ave Rotation: 80* - 85* Ave Tilt: 12.5* This is what I came up with for a benchmark, but I'm not entirely sure about the results due to the tilt/ rotation: 1.25:1 ben...

Re: Clarification on Mid-lane layout
Sorry Mo but that's what was on the Wiki in the Dual Angle Ratio Guide, and that was why i brought it up as it was contradictory to the example. The original statement on the Wiki was: "Mo frequently uses the higher ratio range for mid-lane layouts, and more challenging lane conditions." e...

Re: Layout Advice for a Sports Pattern Arsenal
Just checked the simple symm layouts, i like the sum and ratio, but is the pin to pap of 3 3/8" still ok with my 10* tilt? I'm used to using 4 1/2" to 5" on my symm stuff.

Clarification on Mid-lane layout
Hi all, In the Dual Angle Ratio Guide on the Wiki, which is excellent, at the end it gives an example of a Control layout and Mid-lane layout, adjusted from the banchmark layout. I'm assuming the control layout example is correct, but it seems the mid-lane layout is contradictory though to the advic...

Re: Another symmetric layout question.
Thanks for all your feedback and discussion on my questions, it is all food for thought. I've been reading a lot of Mo's earliest posts, thanks to elgavachon, and the Symmetric ball dual angle layout/ where is the PSA? dilemma comes up time and again. The beauty of the dual angle layout is getting t...

Re: Another symmetric layout question.
Yes sorry John P, 2" below the midline. And yes Kelly we are also guessing with where the PSA of a Symmetrical ball will end up once it has been drilled, especially if balance holes are used too. Unless we can spin the ball up on a determinator, the location of the PSA and the drilled ball true...

Re: Another symmetric layout question.
I understand what you're saying, but what i'm asking is why bother with the pre-drill drilling angle? Why not find the drill angle that places the MB in the thumb (like Labrat was asking earlier), similar to how the drill angle is determined with the Double Thumb layout. If the CG ends up too high o...

Re: Another symmetric layout question.
I've read this thread a few times now, and others on laying out Symmetrical balls as i have been updating my dual angle notes, and it really begs the question, why worry about the pre-drilled drilling angle at all? Why not just put the CG at around 90* (in the centre of the grip), as the PSA will en...

Layout Advice for a Sports Pattern Arsenal
Hi Guys I am looking for some layout advice to set-up an arsenal for a sports pattern comp, where we bowl at different centres on different oil patterns (and lane types). My current stats are: Righty RPM - 330 Speed - 17 mph (off hand) Tilt - 10* Rotation - 60* (up to 70* when playing deeper as the ...

What an awesome answer! Thanks so much for putting that together and it really did shed some further insight as I develop a deeper understanding of the dual angle theory.
Cheers mate!
