I'm fed up with my thumb
I've had thumb swelling/shrinking problems as long as I can remember. Recently, I decided to try KT tape on my thumb, but I wrap it under and over the top. I've never seen anyone else do what I'm doing. My fit based on wiki and changes from Mo in the past: MF: 4 9/16" 3/8L, -0- RF: 4 5/8" ...

Re: Getting the most of a 12lb core
The Halo from Roto has an 0.40 differential with an int diff of 0.08 The hyper cell fused has a diff of 0.29 and 0.08 (storm has similiar numbers in most of their asyms in 12 lbs except codes I think) The Idol and Idol pearl have a 0.35 diff in their sym balls as do the the master line from storm s...

Re: Getting the most of a 12lb core
I would feel better about making layout recommendations if I had the actual speed and rev numbers. High tilt and higher rotation can give the impression of speed dominating revs. When in actuality the speed to rev relationship could actually be slightly rev dominant. Something like this could resul...

Re: High Track, low oil volume
Good Afternoon Chip, Do you use your thumb as I've seen 2 handers that do? If you don't use your thumb is the ball that your PAP was determined from have a thumb hole? The reason why I ask is I don't use a thumb and my PAP moved quite a bit from having a thumb hole to not having a thumb hole drille...

Getting the most of a 12lb core
So I have a customer that is in his mid-30s with MS. His health nearly forced him to quit the game. He decided to keep bowling but drop from 14 to 12lb. I’d like some advice on getting every ounce of differential and intermediate diff(where applicable) from the cores in 12lb balls. I’ve been looking...

Re: Dual Angle Layout Effective For Everyone?
My daughter is learning to roll with the 2 handed motion and is working with 15* of tilt. Her PAP is close to 4 over and 3 up from the bridge. The initial track is below the fingers. I bowl with a no thumb one hander with close to 20* of tilt., his PAP is the opposite way 4 over and almost 4 down. ...

Re: Dual Angle Layout Effective For Everyone?
I don't care where the pin is or if it looks like like someone else's as everyone is different. I was just using a pin down drilling as an example since I could never put the pin below the fingers without breaking the rules of the dual angle methodology. What I'm trying to find out and would like v...

Re: Dual Angle Layout Effective For Everyone?
Yes the DA system works the same for everyone. “Pin under” means diddly squat. What matters is the way it’s drilled not the way it looks. As a PSO, it’s the thing I fight the most. People say “it doesn’t look like my buddies”.....Or I get told I’m using “exotic” layouts when I’m simply giving people...

Re: 3G Tour Ultras won't slide
I also use 3G Tour Ultras. Most slippery for me on sticky synthetic approaches is using the holed back skin sole with teflon pucks or cleat as 3G calls them. TU's come with 5 pucks I believe I used these in conjunction with black felt pucks. One issue that it seems over time the pucks can compress ...

Problem solved.
This is exactly what I do bc I prefer the fit/feel of 3G but the slide characteristics of dexter.

I’m a big fan of the Storm ReactaWipes. We have a belt mark problem in my center. These wipes take the belt marks right off.

Re: Determinant factors for bowling ball purchase ...
For me, I’ve generally got every reaction covered I need for sport/tournament and house patterns. So when I drill something new I’m generally replacing something in my arsenal. I look at coverstock type(pearl/hybrid/solid) then core numbers to determine what ball would fill the need. I usually stay ...

Re: Low flare layouts - short pin vs. long pin
The MB strength is so weak it’s basically a symmetrical cores ball. Think you’d see a later motion but neither layout would have any “pop” on the backend.

Re: House shot struggles--Recommendations?
Well the Black Widow Dark Legend experiment was moderately successful last night. I shot 692 which is my high set this season on the house shot. I did lose carry the last game after starting 240-240 then managed a clunky 205. The right lane burned up on the outside and when I got in the ball faded a...

Re: House shot struggles--Recommendations?
Since, you want to stay in the Storm umbrella and use an asymm. inside to get a sharper break point what about a 900G Tactical Ops? That is a ball I have considered in the same situation. It would seem a stronger solid asymm. may burn up where a pearl cover asymm. (TO isn't as strong as an Intense ...

Re: House shot struggles--Recommendations?
Fufu, Most of the balls you mention are symmetric. I remember reading where MO said to start with symmetric and when you can't carry to switch to an asymmetrical. I know you said you only bring the Jackal Ghost to tournaments but I would be interested to see how it does on these lanes. At least it ...

House shot struggles--Recommendations?
The house shot has been eating my lunch so far this year. My carry has been extremely poor compared to many of the other better players in our league. I just can't seem to put together the right combination of ball, layout and surface prep to open my carry window. I know I'm bowling well as I just b...
