Re: switching hands from right to left
Friends of mine, (very, very good bowlers) have tried it. The results were mixed, some were becoming pretty good at switching hands, others, not so good. Depends on your dexterity. It seemed, because they had already reached a high level of success with their natural hand, they placed a lot of empha...

Re: Roto Grip Gem to Strong
Ok.....that definitely did not come close to working. I am plugging this ball this weekend and am open to any suggestions. My Zenith pearl at 75x2.5x40 works ok, but I was looking for only a smidge more carry power. Suggestions for the Gem even drastic high sums and shorter pin if needed. Eric, et ...

Re: Roto Grip Gem to Strong
The Gem digs into the lane aggressively, especially when it comes in contact with the drier portion of the lane. Polish might be the answer. But, that would be like trying to polish a snow tire. The Gem is a very porous ball.

Re: USBC leagues and house patterns
It seems like the center you work at utilizes various lane conditions for different time slots. Every house around here does the same thing, they use one pattern for open bowling and another type of pattern for league play. There appears to be nothing unusual about the situation you are describing. ...

Re: Arthritis
Hello folks … I’ve developed arthritis in my bowling hand and the ring finger (next to the small finger) is getting sore . I’m just wondering if there is a special way to tape it ? I’m 67 and I get to bowl in league with my Grandson this year … I hate drugs but if I have to I will … any help will b...

[url]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE6A8ttnmCQ/url] Bowling is an unusual sport in that there are many tremendous participants the world will never hear of. Not everyone has the desire nor the wherewithal to go on tour and "make" a name for themselves. I had the unique opportunity to wor...

Re: Want to try 2-handed bowling. What to do with none-bowling hand?
As a traditionalist and long time pro shop owner, it wasn't so long ago, I would have argued until I was blue about (not) switching to a two-hand approach. Well, times have definitely changed. Because of certain types of thumb attributes, I'll even go so far as to recommend the use of two hands. Thr...

Re: Why and how do Purple Hammers get softer?
From the manufacturing side, resins can be very unstable. Heat, cold, moisture, deterioration, surely there are others, have a significant impact on the longevity of resin products. All of those variables should be controlled during the manufacturing process, including the hardness of the finished p...

Re: Varying Pitches
A pure amateur would probably have a problem changing from one type of grip to another. Heck, even a seasoned professional might have trouble, especially in the middle of a game.
It would be great if she could adjust her hand angle a little. If practiced, it's a much easier adjustment.

"I THINK a symmetrical ball is a wise choice...as it seems they are smoother overall I am looking for an entry to low performance..not wanting to drop $200 on a ball alone that a $100 ball will do fine for me right now. I am also basing this off of house shot in league..." Most everything ...

Re: New to forum - Question about new ball I bought
That would be correct, once a hole starts to develop a spider crack, they tend to spread. Get it repaired before it gets too bad. Also, discuss it with the pro shop operator. Maybe they'll recommend more bevel or even go so far as to suggest no inserts. *There are several customers that do not use i...

Re: New to forum - Question about new ball I bought
The cracking could be the end result of a number of things: (1) The ball is impacting the lane at the release point, (2) It is violently rotating / revving over the fingers hole as it's going down the lane, (3) The finger holes are in just the right position at impact when the call comes in contact ...

Re: Our RPM is wrong ?
A good while back, before RPM was introduced into the realm of bowling, revolutions were described in terms of exactly how many times a ball revolved as it was going down the lane. Exactly as described in the video. It seems, that would be a more accurate assessment of rev rate as opposed to modern ...

Re: CG for symmetrics and finger holes (to deep)
With symmetric bowling balls, the method for finding the bottom end of the core is vague at best. We'll draw a line from the pin, through the cg, and mark a point 6 3/4" from the pin. Measuring the static zero point of a bowling ball, before drilling, is of little consequence. We still won't kn...

Switch Grip Longevity
Lately, we have noticed a significant increase in Switch Grip failures. Simply, the tabs seem to be wearing at a fairly fast pace. What makes it even more concerning, the slugs are not being removed and re-inserted continuously, but remain in one ball for an extended period of time. One person, in p...

Re: Layout advice
I’ve decided to switch to interchangeable thumbs, and my PSO which is a full time pba member, recommends the VISE IT system. My question is I want to have two thumbs with 2 different pitches, and if I have my PSO drill the pilot hole of all of my balls at 0/0 if there will be enough room in the two...
