Re: Balance Hole to smooth out a reaction
Thanks Jim for the link, i hadn't read that study before. The ball rolls fine and doesn't flare over the new balance hole, although if it was any further right it probably would. Thanks for the informative and supportive reply too Mo, this site has been a real find for me and my bowling mates down h...

Re: Balance Hole to smooth out a reaction
The fingers had already been drilled deeper with the first blaance hole, so unfortunately that wasn't an option. We plugged the old hole and could only basically have put the hole on the new P1 to keep it legal, so we tried something different, from ideas pre-gradient line balance hole theory, and p...

Re: Balance Hole to smooth out a reaction
Thanks for the prompt and informative replies. i guess knowing the true layout of a symm ball may be helpful, as long as it is applied to all your symm equipment to give you a better idea of why certain balls may be rolling the way they are. Just one last question, relating to an asymm ball i have. ...

Re: Balance Hole to smooth out a reaction
This is very interesting; so once my balls are drilled (Symmetrical) and the weight hole is in place, is it beneficial to find the PSA and then use this to determine the dual angle layout on the ball, as the truer layout? And it begs the question, does the PSA on an Asymmetrical ball also move once ...

Re: Balance Hole to smooth out a reaction
thanks for the advice, am going to have a go at drilling a P1 hole today and see how it goes.
was just thinking, if the thumbhole generally becomes the PSA on a drilled symmetrical ball, then the pin to PSA angle can never really get too small, unless the pin is way passed the centreline of the ball.

Balance Hole to smooth out a reaction
hi, earlier this year i drilled up a Gamebreaker that i had picked up cheap, putting a label drilling on it 90 x 4 3/4 x 60 (which i wouldn't do now having learnt more about layouts for my style). http://forum.bowlingchat.net/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1144" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; T...

Re: Sweet Spot Query
Yes, you understood perfectly, and really helped clarify what i was asking, especially with the ratio ranges. I was aware of the total sums range, but adding to that the ratio range opens up many more possibilities and the ability to fine tune specific ball reactions even further, which is what i wa...

Re: Sweet Spot Query
thanks for the reply and your thoughts. it seems there is different info out there about what is 'matched' speed and revs, as i read off the wiki; "An example of a well matched bowler would be 18mph speed and 300rpm (off the hand)". have also been thinking it would be necessary to know when you expe...

Sweet Spot Query
hi, i have been absorbing all the dual angle and sweet spot info, and just wanted some clarification on some points. which of the following is most important to consider, as i am a rev dominant bowler (16 mph 300 rpm, up to 18mph 400+ rpm), with a tilt of 17 degrees and rotation up to 70 degrees, de...

Re: Thumb Numbness
If you type "thumb neuroma" into google you will find medical articles dating back to the 60s relating to 'Bowler's Thumb'. I've had it for 4 years, seen hand specialists and done quite a bit of reading about it. The best solution i found was to put a small notch in your thumb hole where the neuroma...
