Re: Scoring software

FYI He's referring to Bowling League Secretary by CDE not the software that runs the hardware and front end at the alley,.

Re: Might want to get ready for long term storage of your balls.

I still need to get the tape out of my balls etc. I bought 2 slides to replace my Dexter The one slides. Should I send them back and get a refund? If you ordered them you must have needed them, So Unless your planning on quitting bowling forever no. This isn't going to last forever. I am not sure i...

Re: MY review of the Pyramid Phoenix Ball Revivor

The Pyramid Phoenix Revivor appears to be a pretty good product. I jumped on the NuBall bandwagon when they first came out. It does a fine job and will keep using it until it wears out. I have had to re-lubricate the bushings in the fan and will need to do so on a regular basis to keep it running. ...

Re: MY review of the Pyramid Phoenix Ball Revivor

I noticed that Mo answered a bowler's question on #MoMonday about bowling ball oil extraction at home. Mo doesn't appear to be a big fan of the revivors offered for home use - preferring the pro shop with commercial revivors. IMO, he wasn't a big fan a people trying to bake their balls in their coo...

Might want to get ready for long term storage of your balls.

Since all bowling has effectively come to a stand still for a indefinite time period, You might want to see about getting your equipment ready for long term storage. I would suggest, 1-remove all tape from your thumb holes and clean the hole if needed. Tape left in a hole a long time can get difficu...

Re: Optimal Axis Rotation

If by optimum you are referring the maximum Hook potential you might be on to something. I believe the "Optimal Axis Rotation" is being taken out of context here. The section "Analysis of hook potential" is about how axis tilt and axis rotation and other things affect the hook potential And using t...

Re: Slide pad maintenance...

How often are you suppose to replace the heel/ front part of it. I have " the 9,s" and have had these for like a year or two. You replace your soles and or heels when you think they got wore out or have become damaged in some way. I went to circle bowl in BR today. I ton of people complained of no ...

I had a slow start tonight, missing the 7 pin in the first frame of the first game. Still came back to get 226.
Oh come on.... you consider that a slow start??? I guess if you have 270 average that's a slow start.

Re: Slide pad maintenance...

A friend gave me a new pair of KR Strikeforce Flyers as I reacquaint myself with the sport. I have a couple questions about maintenance for these slide pads. What maintenance can be done on the slide pad to keep it fresh between sessions? Games? Frames? Does a slide specific power need to be used o...

The LANE ISN'T FLAT | Topography in Bowling | What it means by Ryan Ciminelli

Okay the little topography book they get for the lanes they play on looked pretty neat! I'd love to see one for my lanes here. But I agree with Ciminelli though, your ball will tell you what you need to know. I can see some players getting too obsessed with that info though and not paying attention ...

Re: Bowling Ball Surfaces

Guys, interesting conversation! For me, if I had a ball surface scanner handy all the time, I think its main use would be to measure a ball that I just used in tournament or league that was gang-busters. I would want to know what surface made it perform so well - and guarantee that I can repeat it....

Re: Bowling Ball Surfaces

I don’t get the obsession with trying to get exact numbers. Have pads with you at the alley and adjust as necessary That's pretty true! Trying to hit exact numbers is basically a waste of time, even if you sitting there with a surface scanner. If the surface grit is off slightly +/- X amount most p...

Re: Bowling Ball Surfaces

Bowl1820, Some additional thoughts: Probably another thing affecting my results on the spinner is that I have a one-speed spinner. A two-speed spinner might do a better job of sanding to the desired grit at the lower speed, and polish at the higher speed. I would love to try a speed control on the ...

Re: Bowling Ball Surfaces

Are you sanding it wet or dry? I’ve seen a lot of information stating that a wet pad does next to nothing. It's not that wet sanding does next to nothing, It just produces a different type of result. Wet vs Dry Sanding 1wetvsdry.jpg This ball was sanded with the same grit, left-dry sanded, right-we...

Re: Bowling on lanes with no range finders vs lanes with them

Here is a example of reflections that could be used. in this instance the 1st&2nd ball lights give a reference for the 10board, the white light reflection across the lane is at the 40 foot mark. the reflection of the word bowling is as about 36-37 feet. See alot of thing's can be used as reference p...
