Re: Online program to calculate layouts?
I'm a retired programmer. I'm guessing that calculating layouts is based on formulas that could be written as a program? Is there such a program? If not, and if the community would find it helpful, I could write a program, probably using using javascript, that could be added to the wiki or download...

Re: Pin to cg distance
what is the reason some balls have 3 or 4 inches distance and this came to short. It's do to manufacturing variance, Basically all the parts used to make a ball have tiny variations in them (densities ,size etc.) and each step in making it has slight variations/errors in them. They all add up and t...

What page are you looking at?Arkansas wrote:Looks like on page LM-4 the labels for reverse and lateral pitches are on the wrong pictures. Just FYI.
The lm-4 pages are all about ball motion.
Looks like you meant page LM1-4
And yes it looks like they are on the wrong pictures.

Re: Can any one give me ipsia fitting guide
The web page this link bring you to has dozens of things on it, including local newspapers, but I could not find the IBPSIA fitting guide. I suggest you avoid it. I went to the site (frank zhao has posted alot of interest stuff, i've been there before), The IBPSIA fitting guide is right at the top ...

Re: Brunswick DOT
Yes that is the video. But i am not implying that. I am just asking how would someone drill a pin-away asymmetry DOT ball, since now the whole point of DOT is to only drill one one side of the ball. If i was any good in drawing i would draw what i mean. You would drill the dot ball the same way as ...

Re: Stucking at a bottleneck
Just IMO I've worn and tried many different wrist braces over the years and that looks to be way too much brace for your hand. One you need to be wearing that brace when they fit you if your going to use it, to get your fit right. If not you can start hanging in the ball etc. etc. Plus Braces like t...

Re: Ball Cleaning
That won't help me. In the center I bowl at, there's a problem with belt marks, so I always carry alcohol in my bag and when I get belt marks I use it and rub them off. Bowlers complained and I politely told them to check the rules, I'm not altering the surface. Complaints about the ball returns ha...

Re: Dual Angle Layout Effective For Everyone?
Here's from the USBC FAQ's about the new rules #5. With the new gripping hole rule, am I required to drill a thumb hole? No. In fact, if you aren’t using the thumb hole for gripping purposes on every delivery, you’re not allowed to have a thumb hole. If a bowler does not use a thumb hole, there must...

Re: Stirring CS Hybrid (quick plug) with a bevel sander...
I dont plug balls so havent tried it but in a effort to be cheap, You'd probably get a bad rep for your plug work.
You'd be basically plugging with foam, it wouldn't be strong and durable. Most are trying to get rid of bubbles not create them.

Re: what is correct rule if bowler has to leave with frames
Tonight we had this exact situation happen, Bowler had to drop out do a injured toe after four frames.
The blind was punched in and the scorer automatically calculated the proper score using the 1/10 rule.

Re: PAP marking and rules
I have considered doing this, but I never got as far as actually asking my PSO to drill a hole and fill it. Maybe I should do that for the next time I buy a new arsenal... Depending on just what your doing or want. It doesn't have to be a big hole(mark) I take a small drill bit (1/16"-1/8") hold it...

Re: PAP marking and rules
Out of curiosity what would purpose would this serve? If you use a Permanent mark that's big enough , you can see your tilt, rotation etc. during league, tournament. Your not allowed to put tape on during competition. Or if you use a small mark it lets you find your pap and put a piece of tape ther...

Re: Brunswick DOT
EBI pancake plastic balls (not sure about the Scout) already have the physical pin opposite the weight block, so I fail to see any true innovation here. The pin you see in a plastic ball with a pancake weight block is typically just a molding pin and it does not mark the location of the pancake or ...

Question : As i recall, there are 3 types of asymmetric balls in relation to the pin : 1.pin asymmetric (most of the mass of the core near the pin) 2.mass neutral ( most of the mass of the core near the center) 3.pin away asymmetric (most of the mass of the core, on the opposite side of the pin). Well, symmetricals still use CG to find where the MB will be, so not completely useless I'd say? As Mega said The CG has nothing to do with where the PSA will end up after drilling in symmetricals. It's was just used to locate a virtual PSA on balls without a marked one to draw the reference line w...

Thanks for the info bowl1820 ! So you say Storm doesn't use it because Mo wont allow it ? Meaning he allows every other company except Storm? . No, I don't say that. I don't know why they just use the Pin Buffer system, I would hazard a guess that. That their probably not keen on promoting MO's or ...

Re: Do Radical balls have tendency to "die"
Just bought a Radical Katana Slash, then heard from other radical ball owners that the balls "died" after about 6 months of use. Is this a real issue, or more to do with them not taking care of the ball properly? Most likely not taking care of the ball properly. Such as Cleaning and refreshing the ...
