Re: Reaction difference between Pancake vs. Modern dynamic c

I kinda understand what you are saying Nord. This year I am only using old urethane in league play to see the difference from using reactive. The two bowling balls I am currently using are the Black Hammer with a 1.125" MOtion Hole layout and a Black U Dot with the old fashion leverage weight layout...

Re: Another AMF/Bowlmor Center Bits the Dust

That is interesting axslinger. The situation between the AMF and Brunswick centers in my area were the opposite of your area. Brunswick has deals every month and gives out free games on a regular basis to all league bowlers. It is a nicer center than the AMF center was. The AMF house had less expens...

Re: Break Point On A House Shot

For the 16 lbs Black Hammer I sanded the surface to 2000 Abralon. No polish. I had it at 500 grit but for some reason the reaction was bad for me. Putting the MOtion Hole layout on a Black Hammer compared to the PBA Plastic Ball layout increased the overall hook by about 3 boards. This helped with h...

Re: Break Point On A House Shot

A tactic I have been using is to use old urethane with a MOtion Hole. In the past I had drilled an old Black Hammer with the PBA Plastic ball layout and it worked great for a game. Than carry down killed the reaction. When I would move right to compensate the over/under reaction of a THS became un-m...

Re: back Row Single Pins

I do not know your stats or the ball you used so this is a guess based on my experience with old urethane. When the lane conditions allowed using urethane the urethane ball, in this case a Black Hammer from the 80's with a PBA Plastic ball layout, worked great playing straight up 8 - 10 at the arrow...

The product you mentioned sounds interesting. I went to the link and all I saw for sell was a book entitled Head Games by Ric Hamlin and Gary Yamasaki. I saw nothing else for sell.

Re: Copyright USBC rules?

I do not know if the rules are copy written, but the USBC does not own the game of bowling. So if one wants to make their own rules and they match some USBC rule I see no problem with it. I know I am not bowling sanctioned leagues this year.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: Wiki Thumb Angle Chart

With the hand in the air and the thumb extended back the diagram representing a thumb with 75 degree flexibility means that the thumb is closer to the fingers than say a thumb at 120 degrees. In other words one with only 75 degree can not bend their thumb back away from the finger as much as one wit...

Re: Roll point, rotation and tilt revisited.

First great discussion topic. Question for LabRat: Related to your example you said you gave on another thread of a ball with 0 axis rotation and 15 degrees of tilt. If a ball with these numbers is thrown down a lane (oiled or not) and the rev rate say equals the speed at which it is thrown, would t...

Another AMF/Bowlmor Center Bits the Dust

Well after acquiring the AMF center here in the Augusta, Georgia last year and almost doubling the open bowling price Bowlmor corp now closes this center this week. It didn't even last a year after the corporate take over. I guess they could not figure out how to make the AMF center run well. I figu...

Faball Nova and MoHole

Would a MoHole in a Faball Nova be a good layout for an over rev dominant bowler like myself?

Thanks,

Re: Muscle free hinge?

Just to make sure I have it right, how are you defining wrist collapse? Is it wrist extension upon release of the ball?

Thanks,

Sport Oil Pattern Arsenal Help

I am looking for recommendations for a complete ball arsenal for sport oil patterns. I am thinking of the arsenal being made up of Radical equipment, but not limiting myself to other suggestions. I will also be altering my rev rate down about 50 RPM's for my B game to go straighter when the lanes ar...

Re: How Far Are Pins Allowed To Be Off Of Their Spot Center

I just got an e-mail from USBC Inspection Center Coordinator Steven Boyle regarding the re-writing of how far off spot the pins are allowed to be. It took them 3 months to figure this out, but at least they are going to take action to re-write the rule so that it applies to all sizes of pin deck spo...

Re: Spare Ball doubling as a super dry lane ball

I have a Taboo Spare ball drilled 55x4.5x50 with a P3.5 balance hole that I use as my spare ball for 10 pins. It works great when used as a strike ball on burned up or squirrelly house shot. Carry is ok, but still have to make good shots, and there can be an over under reaction at times. Since this ...

Re: Switching Hands

I always thought the same hand rule made no sense either. But I always thought that if one had an injury that prevented them from using their normal hand that they could if they were able and with the consent of the league switch hands in the middle of a league season. But once a league has ended a ...

Slow Internet Connection

I seem to have a slow internet connection when going into the BowlingChat University area. I had to take the test 201 twice because I ran out of time due to it taking 2 to 3 minutes or more to get from one question to the next. I have high speed cable internet at home, which was faster than at work,...

Re: Need help on a couple of layouts

You may need to be more detailed about your stats. Saying you are slightly speed dominant is not detailed enough. State your rev rate and ball speed off your hand and your axis rotation and that might give enough to get a response from the experts.
