Re: Building Diandra Asbaty's Arsenal w/ Storm's Steve Kloem
To add to this, if a person has to use a 6" pin to pap on a symm cored ball they are NOT using a weak enough ball to begin with. This is also where the medium reacting asymm cored balls with a 2 3/4 - 2" pin to pap come into play. I learn something all the time on this site. Thanks. I would have lo...

Re: Building Diandra Asbaty's Arsenal w/ Storm's Steve Kloem
Well said river800. I may not be a layout expert, but from what I have read from Mo's articles on asymmetrical balls long pin to pap layout do not act the same as symmetrical balls. In fact I think they can reach the opposite. Example, if one wants a deep inside ball to go long and strong you certai...

Re: Sport bowling and...
I must say this has been a great thread. I have gone through it twice. While I do not bowl much anymore I still love learning about the physics of the game. (I always learn or re-learn something. Thank you Bowl Chat for that.) To me that is what gave me an advantage over the competition when I bowle...

Re: Motion Hole + Urethane = ???
I have tried the Mo Hole on an old Black Hammer and Pink Hammer. I have had very good success with both for general house shot play, fresh and burn. But of course I am a very rev dominant bowler with a not so fast ball speed. Where I did not have any flare with no Mo Hole, I do with the Mo Hole on t...

Re: USBC revokes certification approval of two Motiv balls
Many years ago while I was at USBC headquarters in Wisconsin, I asked the Director of Bowling a simple question. In my lifetime will I ever see USBC change the S.O.B (System of Bowling) that governs lane condition for league play? His reply...."No". So it would appear that the USBC does not care ab...

Re: Why was 115 American jobs
Good point and I understand, because I see these inconsistencies many times too especially when looking at government statistics. (e.g.: unemployment said to be around 5%, but when the figures are done based on the methods used in the 80's unemployment today stands really at 22%). And if memory serv...

Re: Why was 115 American jobs
It may appear like prices become higher just for the sake of making the rich more money. But there must be a demand for those products at their price point for that product to even exist. If Brunswick had just raised the price of their equipment to maintain their profit margin, do you think they wo...

Re: Why was 115 American jobs
56bird You are correct. I remember those days. When the first Black hammer came out I paid $109 minus my PBA discount. Still have them too. I also make much more than I did in the 80's. Yes some things have deflated in price. But the average costs of essential living expenses have not. Some have be...

Re: Why was 115 American jobs
So why are costs going up? They use to be fine. Why does the dollar not have the same purchasing power it had years back. $100 today buys what about $14 bought in 1969. Why? The 1913 Federal Reserve Act mandate was to keep prices stable. I guess that was a lie. I think the answer to the cause of the...

Re: Why was 115 American jobs
Yes it would be a great idea to not only hear what Brunswick has to say in this, but to all of the businesses that have been around for decades, even a century, that were doing fine 10, 20, 30, 40+ years ago and now in the last couples years must down size or are going bankrupt. It would be good to ...

I believe it is called Capitalism... No it is called Crony Capitalism. A corrupted form of Capitalism. Capitalism use to be what our economy use to function by. It was fair market systems. Now we have rigged markets so the big banks can rob more money from we the People, and it will eventually coll...

Re: Gotta brag a little
According to USBC's site the Pa. State record is 900 by Jeff Campbell and shot in 2004. Otherwise it would have been my brother Dean Wolf who would hold the record. He shot 898 in 2005.
Still that is an awesome series.

Re: What kind of drilling pattern is this?
I used this type of layout with a Red Hammer in the mid 80's and it worked great. But I am a very rev dominant bowler and this layout helped smooth out my ball reaction without losing hitting power when we played on wood lanes and light oil during the 80's. If I use this ball on the synthetic lanes ...

That is why I bowl non-sanctioned leagues this year. No reason to feed money to the USBC.

Re: Bowling Ball Roll Phase
I would try to find where your PAP relocates to on the ball as the ball travels down the lane. You should know where your initial PAP is. Put a piece of tape on your PAP to start and than put a piece of tape where you think the PAP is when the ball goes into the roll phase. You may need to video tap...

Re: ball polish
If I remember correctly my Black U Dot is the original out of the box surface than sanded to 800 auto wet/dry sand paper. Than polished using the compound found in the old Bowling Center ball polishing machine using a buffing wheel attached to a drill. I have not done anything to the ball's surface ...

Re: Guru vs. Everything Else
Fantastic idea in video presentation, and impressive ball reaction. Mo are there any plans to put these remarkable core designs into much tamer coverstocks like old urethane (not the new hybrid urethane)? As much as I would love to get Radical equipment, they are to radical for my rev dominant style...

Re: ball polish
I have not had a ball lose it's reaction yet on me, but that may be due to the fact that I clean the ball after every league and practice night with a good quality cleaner. In the 80's when I used mainly Black Hammers I would polish the ball before leagues using the typical house polishing machine. ...
