Re: Is this ball drilled upside down or wrong?
Just seeing these responses now ( didn't get the email notification for some reason ). ^Thanks Greg!! That totally clears up the engraved hand marker issue. Esp. when you noted the Baller doesn't have it. I'll not assume negatively on my first PSO, but still I'll still seek a certified PSO to get my...

Re: Q on axis tilt
Further thoughts...makes sense once I got it, but visuals so far have been kinda confusing TBH. Please correct me if I'm wrong here... I've yet to see a vid explain this with a non globe/ball prop - which is hard to conceptualize without already knowing these terms. Seems to me a paper plate with a ...

Re: Q on axis tilt
Found answer per JR in comments on the vid (sorry, I usually watch YT on incognito mode to not mess up my suggestions feed) "When the ball is tilted up less circumference of the ball impacts the lane. You would agree the oil rings get smaller as you move away from the center of the ball right? ...

Re: Targeting
Eye/hand coordination can be improved over time. Hitting a target is easy for people who have good eye/hand coordination, the rest of us need to work at it. Practice exercises can be done at home. Playing darts is effective, put the dart board at the same distance as the bowling target you are havi...

Re: returning ball to factory finish
Is there really a significant difference so long as you end up with a thorough surfacing using the same start/ending grits, gradually changing as you go?

Re: Is this ball drilled upside down or wrong?
Are you guys talking about this?ball11.jpg That's the center of gravity stamp for Columbia balls. The PSO didn't do it. (It IS a bit far from the pin.) Thanks Tom & Greg. If true, then I'm totally wrong about the stamp. Sure looks like an idiot stamp to show which way to use the ball ( and to p...

Q on axis tilt
Learning these terms & how they apply, I found a vid to explain. https://youtu.be/6N_K6bohEQY?t=66 "less tire touching means less traction" (true....for a TIRE but not a symmetrically round ball!) "the higher your tilt the further down lane your ball will go before reacting to fri...

Re: Is this ball drilled upside down or wrong?
^ I agree! The stamp is wrong, although it's immediately clear that I cannot fit my fingers if it were flipped. The fact the PSO won't admit to stamping it incorrectly is a red flag to me and reason to seek another PSO to work with moving FW. I'm not a league bowler yet either FWIW, although I know ...

Re: Is this ball drilled upside down or wrong?
^ yes, that's what I'm saying. He STAMPED the little engraved pic of a hand UPSIDE DOWN vs. the fit of my fingers. Can see if you zoom in on the pics. What you say is true IF a player has the same sized fingers & is able to throw upside down. It seems he drilled it correctly for a full roller, w...

Re: That $%^&* 10 pin
here is a comment from a no thumb bowler on that above: Samuel Kraft 7 months ago ~ For the no thumb bowlers~ I don't use a thumb and I bowl one handed, so using the same concept of thumb position I change the position of my pointer finger or pinky and sometimes both if needed to be more aggressive...

Re: Process for Layout Measure/Coaching & plug/drill of 2 fingered
No thumbers/2hands need urethane more to keep their angles in front of them. I'm 1 hander. Although my long-time only/first ball was urethane and not drilled to fit, so it was even less than 1 carpel fingertip grip (edge of hole on dead center of my fingerprints)...probably what led to the full rol...

Re: Process for Layout Measure/Coaching & plug/drill of 2 fingered
so if you pivot the ball, with your fingers in the holes (and you're describing a fingertip grip - it's what I use, just with my thumb in it. Fingers in to the first joint, fingertip; fingertips in to the second joint, conventional; fingertips in part-way between, weird. :) ) does that twist your f...

Re: Is this ball drilled upside down or wrong?
Thanks Jim. I didn't know that, but knew the track lines between the fingers and palm = full roller. The lines are now left of finger holes FWIW. The ball was my choice after a lot of research. Very flexible ball, hybrid cover, good pin carry, etc. Perfect for a daily ball in various conditions from...

Re: Is this ball drilled upside down or wrong?
^ Thanks Jim! That's what I figured. But now that I know I'm NOT a full roller, what if anything does this tell me about how the ball might be responding weaker or worse than ideal? Might I actually be throwing against the intended core design with this setup? I'm seeing oil track lines fanning acro...

No rambling at all! I've dumped a helleva lot into one post and appreciate any & all feedback. Figured it better than separating into multiple threads, although I did another regarding the ball drilling: http://forum.bowlingchat.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14773 Notice there's no plugs or insert...

Re: Is this ball drilled upside down or wrong?
I think you might be confused on what your PSO did, if so, then he did nothing wrong. There are not enough pictures to show otherwise. for 2 handed bowlers, especially ones that do not put their thumb in the ball, there are cases where the pin is "WAY" above the fingers, because now the f...

Is this ball drilled upside down or wrong?
I'm right-handed 2 finger, 1 hander. This is my first ball & PSO drilled it as a full roller based on 3 balls thrown with a non-fitted ball. PSO strongly assured me that he stamped the hand logo correctly although the stamp is clearly upside down & opposite of my hand fit if you click on the...

Process for Layout Measure/Coaching & plug/drill of 2 fingered
Brace for 5 questions wrapped into this OP: Thanks in advance :) I'm reading that drilling ranges around $40 & up. Seems reasonable. A) Should I expect any less for only 2 fingers?? (I know, hang with me on this...) I'm looking for a certified coach able to get my measurements, which I've not h...

NO!! Friends and I used to love it when rec bowling since middle school until recently actually. I led the charge in getting my own ball drilled, bringing own shoes etc. now several have. We all appreciate being able to see the arrows!! For some reason, the arrows never glow under blacklight in desp...
