Unless you are the topic starter or last to post, and I believe 24 hours has to pass, you will not see it. Correct me if I'm wrong Eric.

Re: What does the word STRONG mean to you?

My definition of a stronger ball/layout is it covers more boards. Mo's definition is technically correct though.

Re: sweetspot search

My guess for your benchmark

50 x 4" x 50

Others should chime in and if I'm off by more than a little I'll explain my thinking.

Re: New Arsenal Update Sweet Spot

Thanks for your input Matt. Are you saying that Moto's rev dominance has a bigger effect on the pin distance range, or that speed to rev ratio in general is a little more important(or perhaps is equally important) than the tilt? I think I'm starting to get it a little more. Now I just want to verify...

Re: New Arsenal Update Sweet Spot

Since I want to learn and get better at finding sweet spots I'll give this a shot. I've got you as rev dominant, lowish tilt, and low-medium rotation. I would choose range of ratios to be 1.5:1 - 2.5.1. I'm not very clear on what kind of pin to PAP one should be given(I'm under the impression it's b...

Re: My attempt at a sweet spot

I don't mean to go off subject, but what is the reasoning for wanting larger angle ratios on tougher patterns? And is that a written in stone rule, or does it play more true to certain types of patterns than others(long vs short)? Does a challenging pattern that has broken down fall under the same r...

Re: Intermediate Diff

So, what does a weaker/stronger core mean for ball motion? Will the stronger core make the ball hook earlier, or have more backend, or both?

I'm not sure if that all matters, since the Diff Ratio might have more effect on the drilled ball.

Intermediate Diff

I don't think I've learned or read what the function of the intermediate differential is by itself. What would that be(the higher it is...)? I understand that the higher differential ratio means quicker response to friction, or is that not completely correct?

Re: Welcome back! - New Features Feedback

As far as the chat goes, I like the games feature. Sonny, in particular, is a bit addicting. I've played a few others too. That "Hardest Game You'll Ever Play" is quite the challenge.

Re: What core features define Angularity ?

What do you look at for the ratios? Is it Total Differential to Intermediate Differential or vice versa? What is considered a bigger or smaller ratio? In other words, is 2:1 bigger or smaller than 1:1(my guess is bigger)? Some examples would be good. A ball with a differential of .040 and int diff o...

Re: What are the various lane types available?

There's also AMF HPL, but I believe there's a couple different kinds that I'm not absolutely sure of. I do think one is AMF HPL 9000. Someone with more knowledge will have to fill in the blanks.

Re: Brown Burn markings on tip of thumb

"If I ask them to move the wrist in a release position ( wrist about straight ) the ball usually drops from thumb. If not then its time to get out tape or in some cases for more bevel." All of that makes sense to me except the above. I'm just not completely clear. Are you saying if the bal...

I wonder if it's caused by squeezing as well.

Re: To those who don't grip the ball

I posted my location in post #9. I'm south of Tacoma, Washington in Parkland. Quite honestly, I hate where I live when it comes to bowling. I'm not trying to insult the intelligence of the drillers here but experienced drillers with Mo's philosophies seems hard to find. I know of one or maybe two dr...

Re: To those who don't grip the ball

Front to back you may be right, I think the side to side size is really close but since the front to back might be too small(from the oval hole, and my thumb is relatively flat) I could probably use that taper. That might explain why sometimes my thumb gets irritated above(thumb pointing up) the sec...

Re: To those who don't grip the ball

My ball #1 feels a tad stretched and my ball #2 feels pretty relaxed. I have at least 1/8 more forward than the charts suggest in both balls. I can't seem to make the thumb tight enough, and there's a part of me that can't help but feel like I could use as much forward pitch as 3/4" or somethin...

Re: To those who don't grip the ball

Moving the finger pitches the way I mentioned is only one type of performance fitting. There are many more adjustments, too. Try adding 1/8" forward to the thumb. Don't adjust the span because you are having the squeezing problem now. That should help. Don't change the finger pitches, now. Clo...

Re: To those who don't grip the ball

Mo, When you say a good base grip, do you mean one where you don't have to grip the ball? That's what I assume, and it sounds like what you described about moving the pitches the same amount and in the opposite direction, is performance fitting. Is that right? Assuming I'm correct about needing the ...

Re: To those who don't grip the ball

Fingers with forward pitching (compared to what they should be), will not help counteract a thumb with reverse pitching (compared to what it should be). The span may be the same due to these situations, but the thumb will want to fly out of the ball, while the fingers may not want to leave it. You ...
