Numbness in Ring Finger
Hello everyone. For the past 2 weeks I've been feeling numbness on the pad of my ring finger (last joint) after bowling. I've been using the same drilling on all my balls since December, and I haven't had any issues until 2 weeks ago. I've gotten a new Son!q yesterday, and we decided ro reduce the r...

Re: tom smallwood style
I look at the bowler and the ball as a System. 4) Slide B3 the second step goes in front of previous step just as it should. The head is now aligned with the target. The brain now processes a collusion alert, the ball position at this point cannot clear the right hip during the back swing. Therefor...

Re: Shoe recommendations?
I use Brunswick TPU-X as well. Before that i was using SSt-8's. They are worlds apart in terms of comfort. The SST-8 are very hard and stiff. it got better after a while, but I never really felt comfortable in those. The TPU-X were darn comfortable right out of the box. Can't complain about stabilit...

Re: anybody used a roto grip mutant cell (solid)
Have you had a chance to throw it yet?
What conditions are you using it on? 1000 seems like a very low grit for that strong of a ball. I'd assume it needs loads of oil unless you're heavily speed dominant.
Let's hear some impressions mrbean.

Re: Ebonite tape vs Powerhouse
I've been using powerhouse tapes exclusively. The adhesive is very good, easy to remove without leaving any residues. I once tried a cheaper tape (can't remember the brand, but it wasn't labeled as premium) It left a sticky residue when removing. Haven't noticed a difference on the upper side though...

Re: Rate/Review - The System - DVD - Mark Baker
After watching the DvD a few times I'd like to give my review. First of all: The DvD is well worth the price. It's just so different to all the other teaching videos I've seen. Who is this dvd aimed at? I'd say it's geared towards coaches and/or serious bowlers who like to improve. It's emphasis is ...

Re: anybody used a roto grip mutant cell (solid)
I used to have 2 of those, 1 @box finish, 1 @4000 By far my favourite ball ever, out of all the balls I own. Love the color, love the roll, love how usable it was even on house shots, at least for a game or two. Big fan of the Cell series, I have 6 cells in total. This and the original Cell pearl ar...

Re: Tom Smallwood and Ryan Ciminelli Fingers
Do you mean the thingie on their index fingers? If I remember correctly Tom Smallwood is using one of those. It helps people who spread the index finger improve their grip on said finger. If you have very inflexible finger tendons and spread the index finger, it kind of wants to return to it's posit...

Re: DISCOVERED A THUMB realization
Unfortunately I haven't gotten much success with the horizontal tape. Ordered a roll of teal turbo tape (the tackiest one), but a.) still can't get rid of the curling up issue which doesn't matter because: b.) it actually makes my thumb waaaay too fast. Dropped my ball quite a few times on the backs...

Re: Help with my game please - progress journal
Hello Kajmk Thank you for your words. I hope I didn't give the impression that I was done with Jims list, because I'm most certainly not. It's still the first thing I read when I open my bag at the lanes. Unrealistic expectations might be the suitable term here. I just started bowling again in Septe...

Re: Help with my game please - progress journal
Hello everyone Things I've been working on: • Address position (add some forward spine tilt at address, move your upper body forward until your head is directly over the ball) • Pushaway and Swing timing. There's still a bit too much of an upward and forward motion in my push-away which I want to mi...

Re: DISCOVERED A THUMB realization
great Idea, thank you.
I also ordered a roll of teal turbo tape which is supposed to be sturdier.
Will report back on my experiences.

Re: Knee continuation
I know that video inside out.
It doesn't explain my questions tho.
Is knee continuation a result of everything leading up to the point of release or is it something a bowler does deliberately? How can one get more knee continuation?

Knee continuation
Hello everyone I'm a victim of the Flamingo position and poor foul line balance in general. A topic that got me interested is knee continuation. How exactly does it happen? Is it a result of other aspects in ones approach or is it something a bowler has to actively do? I'd love to hear some more inf...

Re: DISCOVERED A THUMB realization
I will try one of those products mentioned the next time I'm at my pro shop. I still feel like a horizontal tape is bound to roll up, since you'll be rubbing against the edge each time you enter your finger in the thumbhole. Placing another tape above in a vertical fashion doesn't help either since ...

Re: DISCOVERED A THUMB realization
I’m having the same issue as OP and I was wondering about some other methods of getting a more secure thumbfit with a hourglass shaped thumb. Horizontal tape seems like a good idea, but as Stevespo mentioned, I’m having problems with the tape rolling up and I haven’t been able to find tape that’ll s...

Re: Rate/Review - The System - DVD - Mark Baker
I've been eyeballing the mark baker DvD for quite a while now. Unfortunately the dvd is not available in my country, importing it is gonna cost me around 80 usd with all the fees which had me hesitating. But I've just pulled the trigger, can't wait for it to arrive. Thanks for the recommendation guy...

Re: Help with my game please - progress journal
Thank you so much Mr. Merell When analyzing the physical game the tendency is to see the symptom and try and fix that, to fix the symptom we must identify the cause. Fix the cause and the symptom goes away. That basically sums up my frustration in one sentence. I'm usually pretty quick at figuring o...
