Re: Low Tilt question

Depends if the ball has a symmetrical core or asymmetrical core.

Re: Two Handed Bowling Styles: Type "O", Type "P".

Just to elaborate on John's post, the original of the Jesper article was publisehd in May 2016, with the only difference being the addition of the Lesson Plan at the end now. As for the styles John mentioned, here is some more info from my notes: Type ‘O’ = Open Ball in front of the body, walk aroun...

Re: Two hander fighting extremely high track

Many 2-handers/ thumbless bowlers end up with negative tilt as they over-rotate their hand due to releasing the ball too late. And not over rotating by coming around the ball to bowl a spinner, but over rotating if you were looking at the ball from the lane level, which reduces the tilt to zero or n...

Re: Two hander fighting extremely high track

He needs to try and stay behind the ball longer and get it off his hand much earlier. Do you know what his tilt is?

Re: Same ball different layout for league

Have you got the Hustle Ink at OOB? Like Tony said, surface changes for a 1-2 ball combo can be just as significant as a layout change. I have a Hustle Ink at 80 x 5.5" x 25 OOB and love it for my shot when the lanes get dry and I have to move left. From 65 x 4 x 40 a layout change to 65 x 5 x 30 wo...

Re: That $%^&* 10 pin

My current ball I'm throwing is a Storm Astro-Physics. I like the ball and I love the reaction. It gives me plenty of slide in the beginning, turns the corner good and hits like a mac truck. The problem is I am not carrying. I left double digit ''ringing ten'' pins. I throw around 16-16.5 mph, no t...

Best to be matched #3??
Depends, on sports patterns being rev dominant is often more useful as most pros are, on THS matched or speed dominant can help. Shorter patterns less hand helps, with more oil and flatter patterns, rev dominance may create some area.

Symm Ball Layout

This is a pic from the 2019 Silver manual. I must have missed something in my education about the importance of the CG placement!

Like Stacy said, the advice is to read and understand what you have already been provided with, like this: http://forum.bowlingchat.net/viewtopic.php?p=113553#p113553" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; If you want to be stuck in a hamster wheel chasing the same answers you have already b...

I’ve bowled on them in Wellington, and I left more 4-9s from flush hits than I’ve ever seen. Better to hit light and get them bouncing around.

Re: help identifying ball roll

2:28-2:35 Kyle Sherman is what I am talking about. Proper ball roll I thought consisted of 3 stages. Skid, hook and then roll. I can't identify all the stages with that kind of roll, something is missing. Yes I was replying about Sherman. With that sort of roll he is shortening the hook phase to co...

Re: Medium Tilt Low Rotation Question

Could be a pattern like Easy Street 38' (see attached). With dual angle layouts, the ratio of drill to VAL angle is determined by the bowlers tilt (for asymm balls), and rev/ speed dominance influences the sum of angles, so if those stats are off their hand, you'd be looking at a benchmark ratio of ...

Re: Medium Tilt Low Rotation Question

Rev dominant with low rotation, would need to stay in the oil to get the ball down the lane, or use weaker covers and control/ low flare layouts if bowling in the friction.

Re: help identifying ball roll

He could be going straight under the back of the ball to get it to roll like that also. So the question is, if the ball is rolling like that, is that proper ball roll? It looks like it is rolling almost end over end. Bowling quick with very little rotation to play straight and control the backend. ...

Re: High diff. core/low flare layout vs. med diff/regular la

Core numbers after drilling: (A) RG:2.50, Diff:0.038, Int Diff:0.008 (B) RG:2.52, Diff:0.037, Int Diff:0.018 As you can see, the drilled core numbers aren't exactly the same, but are fairly close. The RG and Diffs are close, but one ball is now an asymm core (B) and the other is essentially a symm ...

More flare will shorten the hook zone. Less flare will have a longer hook zone and cover more boards.

Surface and rotation play a big part in this as well.

Re: Effective Ball Motion Without a Hole! - Full Seminar

2. Pin-Down layouts have a place, but never on SYM balls. Not sure why this is mentioned when the new Closer symm ball has 2 x pin down layouts on the Radical drilling sheet. Smooth Hook: Pin Under 85°x 4" x 85° Length with Control: Pin Under 80°x 5 1/4" x 80° Which is assuming pin down and pin unde...
