Re: Do Radical balls have tendency to "die"
No need to do that, you can buy a new spray bottle, empty, at any hardware store. It might not be as nice or as small as a cleaner spray bottle, but a lot cheaper. -- JohnP Possibly, but I would need it to fit in my bag. I haven't found one suitable to this point. Not saying they don't exist though.

Re: Do Radical balls have tendency to "die"
Well . . . all degreasers have oil emulsifiers. That's pretty much what a degreaser is, and Simple Green is a degreaser (in general). A soap is an emulsion that breaks down oil into another emulsion, which is what an emulsifier is. :) Agreed. I use a mix of simple green and isopropyl alcohol (and s...

Re: weird layout on a storm sync
The pin and mass bias are what is important. The CG making a difference is outdated thinking. And with the new rules, it makes not requiring a weight hole even more attainable.

Re: playing a straighter shot midlane during transistion
Use the foul line (0 step) drill in practice. This will help with staying behind the ball, rolling the ball, getting the ball closer to your ankle, etc. I've used it to get better at all these things. Then use a one step drill. Once you have a good feel using these, moving left and swinging the ball...

Re: playing a straighter shot midlane during transistion
Katana, Katana Slash. You don’t need a new post to keep a discussion going. Serious question, why would you think a control layout since your complaint is your ball has nothing on the backend? Your ball is burning up and you need to increase entry angle and/or you’re not rolling it right. I agree w...

Re: How to adjust to DRY lanes
Well, as it turns out, the center I’ve been going to doesn’t oil at all until before leagues. I guess that explains a lot. Not much point in practicing there, even with the “free summer bowling” for league members. Very disappointing. A lot of places are like that, especially during the summer. Cou...

Re: Help Nord Score On House Shots
A good exercise for all bowlers is to cut a piece of paper 11" long by just over 1/2" (.6") wide. This is the approximate proportion of a bowling lane (60' long by 39" wide - approximately). When you look at this piece of paper from straight on, you will be able to see that ther...

Re: Help Nord Score On House Shots
Im sorry, but "high scoring" on a house shot isnt 220. 220+ ... AVERAGE. I did not say 220 on the nose. This includes people who average over 230 and have many honor scores. Just leave everything else out too. Hall of Fame. Big tournament winners both on house shots and sport shots. But n...

Re: Help Nord Score On House Shots
Can't play a house shot front to back? Some really good bowlers in my area - some hall of famers - do just that. Average 220+ on house. Good on sport. Have won big tournaments in the area, etc. Hell, I'm at my best when I play more front to back on house. I even get reminded this often by some of th...

Re: bowling against plastic ......
I agree with Rob on this one. One bowler throwing plastic/urethane is not going to have an effect on anyone throwing resin - certainly not in league. The people affected will be others throwing urethane/plastic. On sport shots, particularly one vs one, then you might see some change in ball reaction...

Re: The Origins Of The Two-Handed Throw??
Why does everything seem to come down to "unfair" advantage? Anyone can throw two handed if they wanted to. Sure, it may be physically impossible for some, but so is it for some (many) to rev it one handed like EJ or Robert Smith. There are players in every sport that are more gifted than ...

Re: RotoGrip Hot Cell
i had one, and the only problem i had with it was i guess i didn't wipe it off enough and it lost reaction after 2 games Get a shammy and wipe it every shot, or at least every frame. I've found that a shammy is a must with urethane if you want to get a consistent reaction. As for the Hot Cell, I've...

Re: USBC New Ball Specs
Most of the events in the Winter Olympics say hi. How are those little countries expected to compete there? Not really a valid argument. In terms of changing environments, many outdoor events are affected by the weather - especially the wind. Any event that has athletes competing to post times and s...

Re: How to make roll phase (breakpoint) earlier
Try to focus on rolling the ball. It seems more like you are throwing it. And as was said above, this is causing too much rotation. Even if you can't stay under/cup the ball (I also have issues with this at times), being able to come from the back and roll the ball makes a huge difference. Make sure...

Re: How long does storm ball scent last?
I realize that the storm company was putting the sand on their balls, but I thought they were done with that now? The storm ball I bought last week doesn’t have a smell to it; at least not as far as I know. The only Storm balls that don't have the scents are urethane and plastic. Pitch Black, Mix, ...

Re: Controling the breakpoint (not going inside of it)
If you aren't worrying about spares, why waste time even shooting at them? Why not re-rack and take another strike shot - or just throw another strike shot without the pins? Stop worrying about strikes and scoring. You are there to practice. Throwing your hands in the air at every miss is doing noth...

Re: The 2018 Urethane Ball Thread
Of the 5 urethane balls I currently have, I see them this way: Hot Cell and Black Hammer are early hook and control. The Hot Cell is clearly the stronger of the two. Both are also better throwing at 10 pins and going straight at spares on the house shot (without having to modify my release a ton). S...

Re: The 2018 Urethane Ball Thread
So yes, too strong of a ball will hurt your game. Making you try to roll it faster decreasing your accuracy. I know for me I am so much more accurate when I can relax and just roll the ball without forcing it. I have said it before and I will say it again, For me, Urethane makes the game easier and...

Re: The 2018 Urethane Ball Thread
I am liking my Shadow Ops so far as well. My main house decided to take a bit of length off the middle a few weeks back. Not only did it make it even harder for me to bowl with resin, it also makes urethane hook more. I either have to throw it harder or swing it more. Last night we had our playoffs ...
