Re: Multipoint targeting
I'm not quite a senior, but I'm getting there. My athletic issues are mostly due to multiple back/neck surgeries and consequent weight gain and loss of flexibility. In addition to the issues of executing a run up and slide, I can't hold the ball in the same starting position or follow through comple...

Multipoint targeting
I'm an older amateur with athletic issues and a 90 something average. I'm using a plastic ball to reduce variation due to lane conditions, but I still get plenty of hook on a house pattern. I've watched some videos and tried to implement some things, but I've mostly struggled to hit my target. In th...

Re: Finger pain
Check your grip with an IBPSIA certified pro shop, could be caused by too much emphasis on the fingers, if spans are correct then some changes in pitches might do the trick. If you insert your thumb fully and lay your fingers over the holes without stretching or inserting them (relaxed) the lower e...

Finger pain
Lately, maybe since I got my new ball, I've had severe aches in my middle and ring fingers after bowling that take about a week to go away. My fingers do t ache while bowling or immediately after. It takes about a day. I noticed a suction popping sound last time as my fingers came out of the holes, ...

Re: Ball Weight
I tried a 10 pound plastic lane ball tonight and my speed was 15.5 to 16.5 mph. I expected more. I'm aiming for 18 mph. My 8 pound ball goes 19 mph when I roll it. Maybe I should try a 9 pound ball? I did get one of my highest scoring games ever, but it was only a 157. I've also had new ball syndrom...

Re: Ball Weight
If you're an physically healthy individual with no limitations due to injury, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to hold use a 12 lbs ball for 3 games. The ball should basically hold on to you. It sounds like a bad grip, leading to excess grip pressure, leading to fatigue. Are you throwing a f...

Re: Ball Weight
I guess I misunderstood what he was offering. He basically gave me one free lesson where he made me more aware of my follow through and being more consistent with it. He was clearly too busy in the shop to be giving lessons.

Ball Weight
I'm coming back from more than a year off due to multiple back and neck surgeries. I've never been an avid or skilled bowler, and I'd guesstimate my average at around 90. I typically prefer disc golf, and I have an amateur national champinionship title under my belt in that arena. But July and Augus...

Re: Layout Issue?
Thanks. I took your advice and visited the pro shop where I bought my ball. It's at AMF bowling in Garland, Texas. There is a pro there named Willie Wells who apparently just moved to the area. I looked online after I met him and saw that he is competing as a Senior and has some recent wins, plus a ...

Layout Issue?
I'm a middle aged woman who recently started bowling regularly, and I have a natural hook, but I'm getting either too much or too early fade with my reactive resin ball. The few times that I've been able to hit the pocket, I've had to stand all the way left and flirt precariously close to the right ...
