Re: Strongest low RG ball

What would be the best ball for me to get that is the lowest RG? Direct quote from "Ball Selection" section on BowlingChat University: The elements of selecting a bowling ball should be considered in this order: Coverstock Strength Total Differential Intermediate Differential Pin to CG Di...

Re: Adjusting

First of all. Ask camera man/women to read this: http://wiki.bowlingchat.net/wiki/index.php?title=Video_Capture_Coaching" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It is very hard to see right things from these videos. Anyway, one quite good shot (from camera position and angle point o...

Re: Adjusting

According to the lane tech guy, the lanes are oiled every night the same. On Wednesday one guy does it and on Thursday it is a different person. There are several programmed patterns in the machine which the lane tech won't let you know any of them. The only thing he says is that the lanes are oile...

Facebook is teached people to react all the posts but difference is that here we sum these to reputation.

Re: Adjusting

I didn't want to make a new thread for this. To get good adjusting practice, wouldn't it be a good idea to wait until a league is over with and then bowl 1 game on 2 lanes, then move down to the next pair and bowl a game and so on? I am not saying for you to do it. I am saying it in general for any...

Re: Adjusting

Please let us know how you do it in Finland. Maybe we here in the US might learn something. ;) After for while I played in the league today so here it comes. We played five games and there were four players on each team. Oil pattern was like this: VS-270118.jpg And what comes to an original topic a...

huge room for error? that goes back to what I always say, "When you line up right or 'find something', you look like a genius". I'm lined up right for this shot. I found that margin. I was meaning oil pattern it is still hard to me believe how much easier THS patterns is used on US. Anywa...

Re: 0 degree tilt!

Things which comes to my mind when I look these videos. You are: Running => try keep first steps slower Throwing the ball => try keep your hand relaxed and just let ball just go Lofting ball quite far => try to let if drop of your hand Is these issue or not depends on which level you want to be. Wha...

Re: Increasing ball speed for 2-hander

Coaches must also be careful when looking at cause and effect, the release is usually the effect, yes he is going around the ball and yes doing a backup drill will help fix this but one must work one thing at a time and in my opinion there are other things that should be addressed first. Different ...

Re: Increasing ball speed for 2-hander

Just for the sake of conversation, there are certain techniques which are inherent to the bowler's mental approach to the game. There is really no way of knowing who is better, they bowl a certain way because it enable them to score. Scoring is everything right? Yes. "The last time I watched b...

Re: Increasing ball speed for 2-hander

I just posted 4 new videos of myself after a lesson I took over the weekend. Please feel free to critique. Based on these I repeat my earlier tip to focus to keep a hand behind of ball. Here you can see how early you hand is side of ball: hand on side of the ball.png And here you can see that Osku ...

Re: Is your fit good enough?

Wrist pain usually isn't your grip, unless your grip has your hand really contorted so that you feel the pain when you support the ball or cock your wrist. If you can put your hand in the ball, get in a ready position, and cock your wrist up and to the inside without any sharp pain, then I would sa...

Re: Turbo finger switch grip

I have used these on ball demo. They work fine but it is little bit hard to understand why someone would like to have these on own balls? At least I don't care some much size of finger grips as long thumb fits fine.

Re: Increasing ball speed for 2-hander

To the original topic, getting more speed. There is some interesting videos on youtube. Osku from side view: Speed comes from timing, lag and the proper use of your legs, I'll elaborate as soon as I can, stay posted. If I have understood...

Re: Increasing ball speed for 2-hander

So you think I am coming around the side of the ball too early creating too much side roll if I am understanding you correctly? I'm not sure how to stay behind it longer for it feels like I am staying behind it.... You can easily see that your hand is side of the ball (axis rotation at least 45*) f...

Re: How do I re-train myself to stop sliding through release

Because I need my slide to be long in order to continue through release, I typically use a Leading Edge heel with the rubber back and adjustable front strip. I got this heel as self-preservation - I slide long and needed a heel that allows that. Have you tried to use shoe brush to that heel? Maybe ...

Re: 0 degree tilt!

The Blueprint simulations are for a Columbia Outburst, a discontinued ball. To assume they will be true for other balls is a mistake. True. I don't assume anything. I just say that it is possible on this ball and most likely will be possible on some other ball too. Where is the Mass Bias if you onl...

Re: 0 degree tilt!

perhaps the sharpest shape with the quickest reaction to friction could be something like 110 x 3 1/4 x 40 maybe 35. I'd have to also see how the pin looks on a layout like this. I have seen over 90* drilling angles on this video and on this guide . There you can also see pin location. On both of t...

Re: Redrill or Resurface?

Coverstock = Skid Length Core Shape After Drilling = Hook Zone Shape I dont know where you got the idea that coverstocks gave a greater affect on symmetrical balls. I got that idea from my earlier experience. I did now some simulations of this on Powerhouse Blueprint by using delivery parameters: 2...
