Re: Can not throw a hook

i have been working on my release and swing recently too. my PSO who is also my coach, is getting me more end over end roll and its helped quite a bit. 2 things i can say from my experience. come through the ball not around it. when you release feel if the ball/grips rub on the side of your fingers ...

Re: Anybody experimenting with 3oz finger, thumb or side wei

yes i got a NIB faball tour gear hammer hitman (nobody else has heard of it either) and i put 3 oz of side weight in it because i figured the cover would be fairly weak on todays oils. it did seem to help, but i can't be sure since i didn't throw it with a different layout. it might also have to do ...

Re: Benchmark Ball

consider learning to control your emotions. i should bring this up to a guy on my friday league. i bowled with him on saturday once cause i walked in and he was looking for someone to bowl with so he payed for me. well in the 2nd game he missed a 7 pin (lefty) and he smashed a pair of headphones on...

can't stop pulling it.

a couple months ago i got the idea in my head that if i cross over with my arm on the follow thru/release i could get better ball rotation and better revs (partly because i was trying to bowl like mike fagen). anyway i finally got it down and then i started pulling the ball a lot (shot straight at a...

Re: "throwing away a good game in the last frame"

i used to be able to throw a straight ball with anything i had but when i raised my backswing i couldn't do that anymore. so now when i have any right side spares i throw a back up ball. i have gotten good enough at it that if i had to i could throw back up for strikes too (shot 166 with it before l...

Re: weird layout on a storm sync

let me clarify what my PSO told me, he said the ball had no side weight. which i guess takes the core out of play

weird layout on a storm sync

i got a used storm sync the other day and i expected it to be strong like my sure lock. i tried playing deep my first shot and it rolled into the 3 6. i took it in the my pro shop and he said it had no core dynamics. the cg was in the palm and was about 2 inches out of line the pin and mb (will get ...

Re: senior bowlers and lane conditions

my local bowling alley is starting to put down more oil so i too am playing straighter (except for the one time they had a 36 ft pattern and i shot 245 playing a black diamond rubber up 10) even my stronger stuff i cant swing out as much unless i throw it slower. the other day i had to play between ...

if you are looking for a strong symmetric ball, try to find a primal rage remix. i probably could play straighter with mine if i had more ball speed

didn't know rubber balls still hooked.

the other day i had a Brunswick black diamond rubber at 4000 + polish to use for a spare ball and i wasn't doing to good so i figured i would try using the black diamond for a strike ball. i had to play between 5 and 10, and it came back like a urethane ball. I ended up getting a 154, and me having ...

i just recently got an old piranha/c pearl and use it as a dry lane ball. or a spare ball if there is too much oil.

Re: Danger/Problems at the lanes people out of control

the only real problem i have like this is parents not controlling their kids. one time some random kid from 3 lanes down came over and tried to take my ball. and this wasn't an older kid he must of been like 4 years old

Re: Need a Ball & Layout Recommendation(s)

if you want asymmetric i would try a sure lock, or code x. i have a sure lock and it hooks in any kind of heavy oil i have thrown it in. i have also tried it on drier lanes and it still rolls but it definitely burns up some. haven't thrown a code x but i might get one because it seems similar to the...
