Re: how dead is bowling?

Evening second shift leagues actually fit into the schedule of people working, late or graveyard shift. Friday evening can work for all. Anecdotal Digression perhaps induced by cabin fever ... Anyone remember when there were waiting lists to get into leagues or open bowling? Back around the turn of...

Returning to coaching after COVID 19

My fellow coaches,
I am wondering what steps you are going to take when you do return to coaching after COVID 19. I have gloves, masks, Mircostriker cleaner at the ready when we do finally open up.

I think we should relax a little bit here and focus on solutions that help.
Focus on the probable, not the possible.
Indeed we should. I always try and focus on the probable. I'm just curios what steps Pro Shops are going to take, Towards that end I'll start a new thread there.

Re: Returning to bowling after COVID Shutdown

No signs of starting back up in NY. I think most bowlers will continue to take the summer off like they usually do, which could mean peril for many centers needing the business right away. If you want to continue to bowl at your local center, START BOWLING IMMEDIATELY AFTER THEY REOPEN. I hear that...

Re: Does cosmic bowling etc help you train at all?

People love glow bowl. It is designed to create a carnival type atmosphere which is highly desirable for birthday parties. From a bowler's perspective, a bowler could still execute fundamentally sound approach techniques in the glow environment. The mental aspect would revolve around the type of pa...

Re: Pain in upper joint middle finger after bowling?

So I use house balls. They seem to fit me ok. But for some reason my middle finger feels stiff and my upper joint hurts. Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations? Does this happen to anyone else? Before anyone says anything I will be talking to the bowling alley and also a doctor about this to...

Re: Finance records of bowling alleys?

Exactly... unless the bowling center was for sale and you are a prospective buyer and wanted to see the books, I see no reason why they would share that information with the general public.

Re: off balance hop

My thoughts: I agree with John about your age and size. Having said that, you could try what I call finish to the start. Take your finish position as far as your spine tilt both laterally and horizontally and make your stance more closely resemble your finish position. My thinking is that if you can...

Re: Certified Coaching

Why move it, we have enough certified coaches floating around, and for the most part we are willing to share our knowledge although each coach sees the physical game a little differently.

Re: Looking for a coach on Long Island

Look on bowl.com type in your zipcode, look for at least a bronze level coach. Which is higher in expertise? A “Bronze” or a “Level 1?” (I simply don’t know) Also: I note that SOME of the “coaches” listed, don’t provide contact info.. what good is THAT?! I would think that bowl.com would require th...

Re: Drifting and targeting, and ETT

When we end up sliding to the same board of setup, or even drifting a few boards to the non bowling side, the target (e.g. the arrow) will be further away from the bowling arm at the foul line. So if we throw the ball to the same target, the ball will go further left or right. Is this against the c...

Re: Couple questions

I have a tropical storm bowling ball and I'm a new bowler. Playing what feel like oily lanes to me, I don't get much hook out of this ball throwing at 15mph (which is comfortable for me). I start with my instep on board 13 and target mark 10 to hit the pocket. If I slow it down to <13mph and move a...

Re: USBC Silver Level Course to be offered at Kegel

This goes out to all Bronze Level coaches who wish to certify as Silver Level, I will be attending the Silver Level course that will take place from January 19-21 at the Kegel Training Center in Lake Wales Florida. I am currently number 5 in the list and we need 5 more to have a quorum of 10. If an...

Re: Feedback on my shot

Hey all, I'd love some feedback on my shot. I'm trying to get a very modern style release (Mike Fagan has my favorite swing and release). I am concerned about my swing, I'm not sure if it's straight enough. I'm also concerned about the timing of my steps as well as the length of each step. I have a...

Re: Looking for a coach on Long Island

Hello All, As my subject says I'm looking for a coach to provide some lessons on Long Island, preferably the eastern end. I've been bowling leagues for three years and have averaged 175-180 through that time frame. I'd like to improve upon my game and I feel a few lessons may help me with that. Tha...
