Axis Migration

I've been lead to believe that the closer the axis migration is to the pin the harder the ball will turn left.
Example - 90 x 2 1/4 x 45.
If so, are there any dangers associated with Radical equipment with this layout?
I'm afraid that with the high DA the ball will never slow down.

Re: Layout Help

Eric & Megamav:
Thank you both for your Input. In the video Mo makes it appear that you just put the PSA on the VAL and off you go. I guess you should follow the process outlined in selecting the proper layout. I will follow the suggestion and see what happens.

Re: Layout Help

Eric:
Would you agree with MegaMav that the PSA on VAL would not be a great layout for my specs?

Also what recommendation would you have at this time?

Thank you.

Re: Layout Help

MegaMav:
Thanks for the response. I guess your saying that putting the PSA on the VAL would not be a good idea for me! Looking at the Pin to Spin line it obviously revs up early. Would you recommend the PSA between the thumb and VAL as a good alternative?

Thank you.

DIFFERENTIAL RATIO

I'm trying to learn the science of the game and after reading an article by Mo in the Nov. 2010 edition of BOWLING THIS MONTH titled "Differential Ratio" I don't find many ball descriptions that cite this info. According to Mo "The differential ratio of the drilled ball is the most significant facto...

Eric:

Quite a contrast from my Sym. layout to your recommendation for the Sym. benchmark. How did you arrive at those figures?

Thanks,

Re: LAYOUT HELP

Pin is located next to ring finger and the drilling is probably around 40X50. I don't think the ball goes into the roll phase soon enough and just want to experiment with a different drilling before purchasing another ball. Local ball driller is just beginning and not sure if he understands how to l...

Re: LAYOUT HELP AFTER FINDING THE BENCHMARK

Thanks Eric: Let me try to put this together. According to Libra's spread sheet: MPH - 18 REV - 290 Mo's Angle - 92 Benchmark Sum Ratio Allocation according to tilt - 1:1.75 - 0.5 = 1:1.25 Angle Ratio = 1:1.25 92 divided by 2.25 = 40 92 - 40 = 52 40xx50 Benchmark Find a long & strong layout from 92*...

LAYOUT HELP AFTER FINDING THE BENCHMARK

After you have determined your benchmark layout, how do you arrive at layouts such as control, long & strong, mid-lane, totally strong? The examples in Wiki - Dual Angle Ratio Guide uses 90* total sum. I'm guessing that is just a random number to show how to do the math. The math I understand, how d...

Re: Layout help

Went to my ball driller and he ran the VLS and suggested I go with a Storm Crux since the Master is not available to him yet. I'm in no hurry. VLS went as follows: 2 1/2 x 5 3/4 x 1 1/2 Mo's recommendation: 35x4x45 Some definite variations! Also I've read that in certain instances that the depth of ...

WOW! Thanks for all the help. Your input is greatly appreciated. Now to take the info to my pro shop and see what he has to say about Mo's suggestion. Re: Layout help

Is a double thumb a possibility? All the info I read indicates that it makes the ball more dynamic.
If so, same layout but DT.
Thank you.
