Re: USBC Nationals for 2020 Cancelled - good or bad thing?
Daryl, Your logic is faulty and in I'll use simple logic to disprove what you been saying. You and I quote you saying that hundreds maybe thousands of doctors believe this pandemic is a hoax. Just because your not satisfied with the science used to define SARS COV2, doesn't mean it doesn't exit. I t...

Polishing Urethane
I would like to know what reaction I should expect if I polish my 12 lb hammer black widow urethane. I am 79 years young and I bowl a seniors league and even my weakest reactive hooks to much. My stats are in my signature but as of late I have been using an app which measures speed o hand and at the...

Re: Advice for weird (inverse) house shot
I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on how to play a weird house shot. I've posted in the layout forum on the same issue and whether or not a low flare layout would help if anyone has layout advice on the subject they'd like to give. The pattern our house is using for league this year seems to b...

Axis Rotation
People, I find that with my high Axis Rotation 70 degrees and coupled with my slow speed 13 off my hand, when I play on sport shots that don't have much length or really low volumes of oil I generate too much hook. I try to come up the back of the ball but my muscle memory from all years I have bowl...

Re: Urethane & Plastic
I gave you an answer, polish is 5300 grit. So you can start at 1000 or just go straight to 5300. Point is, read the ball and adjust it as necessary in the 10 minutes of practice. Stacy, I Think you got the 5300 from Ron Hickland and after I talked to Mitch Beasley from Ebonite he explained to me th...

Re: Urethane & Plastic
You can always change them back, start with 1000 grit and go up til you get the reaction you’re looking for. Thanks for your suggestions and in no way am I trying to offend you. I don't often get to play on reverse blocks so changing grits and trying on that shot is almost impossible for me. I was ...

No because both balls perform well on ABT sport shots 42 feet or less. This the one house that doesn't put out a sport shot but a reverse block.

Urethane & Plastic
Folks, I have both a 12lb black widow urethane and a widow spare . They are asymmetrical with the gas mask core. I keep both balls clean and with abralon pads try to keep the surface at 500. My question is there any benefit when bowling on a reverse block to use powerhouse polish to make the skid ph...

Dumb Question about bowling balls
Folks, In august of 2020 when the new rules about holes in bowling balls take effect. To my knowledge if there is a hole in the bowling ball then a finger must use it. My question is this, would it be legal to buy a ball and use it without ever drilling any holes assuming the ball meets legal specs....

Re: layout for 12lb Destiny Magenta solid
Destiny Magenta solid, interesting, Cyclone core with Game Breaker 2 Phenom coverstock. It is a monster core at the lighter weights. The Phenom coverstock was touted as the strongest Game Breaker 2. So I'm thinking the Destiny Magenta solid is going to be stronger than advertised. With that said I ...

Re: What factor dominates a THS bowler for ball reaction?
I am not a PSO; Having said there, here is my opinion. I recently teamed with a left hander throwing a black widow he had for years. The ball was so oil soaked that when you touched it, it left oily prints. When he threw it, the ball had little reaction on the lane. I offered to revitalize his ball...

Re: What factor dominates a THS bowler for ball reaction?
I think you should consider putting the effort in to learn how to match up rather than make excuses to not take any action at all. Matching up and throwing the ball consistently with a good release, which means, throwing the ball with some tilt, but not too much, and some rotation, but not too much...

What factor dominates a THS bowler for ball reaction?
First I want to say that I am in no way trying to disparage anyone and will welcome rebuttals to what I'm about to posit. If my assumption are wrong then please correct me, as I'm always eager to learn. I have always read that surface on a reactive ball whether solid or pearl is the most important f...

Re: Sanding a pearl ball to make it dull with more grit.
That ball at 500 grit is probably going to scan at 2000 by end game one and 4000 after three games so I don’t see the logic in having a ball at 1500 to ball down to. Davidjr113, My PSO is back from Bowl Expo and knows my game and he agrees that after one game it might be 2000 or a little less but a...

Re: Sanding a pearl ball to make it dull with more grit.
Sanding a pearl is definitely an option. Many people think a pearl needs to be shiny. I have found they play well with surface on them. 360 grit is extreme. The only reason I would sand a ball to 360 would be for a full resurfacing. 500 grit is the lowest I would go. I would have a 2nd ball at 1500...

Sanding a pearl ball to make it dull with more grit.
I bowled today at my local ABT and Lo and behold they put out the 2013 PBA Badger which is 52 feet of oil. I'm a senior bowler (79) will slow ball speed and use 12 lb equipment all Pearl except for plastic and urethane. My two strongest balls are the Storm Intense and the Track Logix. Most weeks the...

Re: Ebonite Ultra fit tool with 5/8 blade
It's good for minimal scrapping for slightly enlarging the hole where material needs to be removed. I used mine more for cleaning up sanding scratches. since I used a 5/8 sanding drum, both on a drill and on a screwdriver handle, while finish grooming the sides of my thumb holes. Trying to take too...
