Re: Your Most Memorable Moment In Bowling?

Jeez, compared to those stories, mine is a bit anticlimactic.

3 8-10s in a row during a tournament. The confusion was unreal.

Re: Very Odd Lane Effect and why did it happen?

Nord, you are starting to become the older Krava. You are being given advice and information about bowling, stop deciding that your own ideas are correct and arguing with the users with more expertise.

Re: Very Odd Lane Effect and why did it happen?

But I remember hearing or reading that it is impossible to create 6 degrees of entry angle in real life. They said something like you would need to be in the next lane and roll across that lane to the pocket on the lane left of that lane to get 6 degrees. If that is so, then what is the real maximu...

Joe's article on BTM goes into more detail on this, including an interactive calculator.

Re: Could someone please...

Biggest meathead in bowling. I think he sets the sport back. He is obsessed with power, if a player is struggling, he needs more hand. If Belmonte leaves a 10 pin, he is baffled. I want him gone with the move to Fox. I'd love to have Norm Duke do the commentary. Imagine watching a show with Belmont...

I need to lower my average so we have a chance of winning something.
the hell with it lets just forfeit because no way we can win.

You really are something else, Krava.

Re: I STINK At This!

I believe that, having a ball (the “RIGHT” ball) drilled for my hand, (fingertip Grip) would increase my chances of becoming a more consistent bowler. I believe that having a decent pair of bowling shoes, helps in “feel” and performance. I believe that being as consistent with my approach as possib...

Re: Help Nord Score On House Shots

...where is Krava when we need him... I haven't read anything on this but this last page. Nord's style is the same style I used for a very long time. I am going to be blunt, I don't see his average going over 200 though. Not with that low ball speed and that low of revs. Look what you did. Go...

Ball Pin Length is the distance between the Pin (that spot that's usually near your finger holes) and the CG.

Re: The Origins Of The Two-Handed Throw??

So, in the end, I could spin in circles, and flip the ball around four times, or do whatever dance I wanted, and it wouldn’t be a violation of play. THAT’S pretty much what this all comes down to, eh?! Yes. 4a. Legal Delivery A delivery is made when the ball leaves the player’s possession and cross...

I don't particularly follow any other sports, but is there any other examples where older players get irrationally angry that the younger people are better than them?

Re: USBC New Ball Specs

The first step in 'taming' this was to take away the extra hole from two handers. Belmo did strange things with the ball with a thumb hole and weight hole. No he didn't, he's been on the record stating that he doesn't use weight holes, and has a faux thumb hole in the same spot on all of his balls ...

Re: The 2018 Urethane Ball Thread

That is because it is harder to score well with urethane and requires more skill generally from the bowler and I like to see that challenge from the players. I'm not putting down urethane when I say this, but that's clearly not the case if the pros are choosing to use it. No professional is going t...

Getting inside the ball

It's been a long time since I last posted for advice, and hopefully I've improved. I've been working on moving my weight faster to my slide leg, as well as reducing the space between ball and body and getting under and inside the ball at release. The side view is possibly not ideal, as it was my pho...

Could the order of the page titles be reversed? For example, I'm currently looking at the topic "Need more rotation", and the page title is "BowlingChant.net • View Topic - Need more rotation", it'd be better from a user perspective to have the topic title before the site name, p...
