Hitting Up
What are some good drills/techniques to use to stop hitting up on the ball? I've got one league where the lanes are dry with no hold from the git/go. In my effort to get the balls down the lane with extension it causes me to hit up on the ball. I'm 30 pins lower in this league and it's not a sport s...

Re: CG PLACEMENT QUESTION
So if I opt for a symmetrical ball, lay-outs are like 20 years ago. Pin distance from PAP is really the controlling factor (and surface)? Does pin up still mean "goes longer-hooks sharper" and pin down mean "rolls earlier and milder reaction"? CG location doesn't matter? Used to ...

CG PLACEMENT QUESTION
I want to layout a ball that has the pin 1 to 1-1/4" from PAP. It's a symmetrical ball with a pin to cg of about 2 1/2". RG of 2.54 with .032 diff. Simply light bulb core. Where should the CG be placed now that you can't drill weight holes anymore? I had one a few years back and I remember...

Re: I want a pin down ball. Best ball?
I want a pin down ball for more control. To even out over under. I had a pin down ball in a Brunswick Rhino Teal long time ago and I really like the ball on house shots. I also had a Brunswick Sapphire Blue with the pin 1 1/2" from pap and below finger hole line. Both balls were my go to balls ...

I want a pin down ball. Best ball?
I want to drill up a pin down ball in my next ball. Basically the pin below my fingers. What type of ball works best with a pin down type drilling, asymmetric or symmetric? Or does it make any difference?

I have a couple of videos of myself taken when I got a lesson from Jasnau. I have no clue on how to cut these down for your analysis. Can I send these to you for your analysis?

Fixing early timing
I have a case of early timing. I'm 5 steps with pushaway on 2nd step. I''m constantly inside my target and off balance quite a bit. I also tend to hit my leg on the downswing....ball dropping and hitting leg before it gets to the backswing.....coming forward. The early timing is killing me. I've mov...

Re: Static Weights
You want Mo's 9 layouts ask him on Facebook. If you want to talk about the Dual angles that are best for you, not cookie cutter layouts for the masses, I would be glad to help. The 3 oz static limits and no balance hole take away from the driller the ability to take a $100 bowling ball and turn it ...

Static Weights
New specs, if I read correctly are 3 oz diff on all sides, top and bottom. I think the old was 3 oz top and bottom diff with 1 oz diff between side and fingers/thumb. So my question, if more than 1 oz of side weight was bad in old specs we had to drill a hole to get it back within 1 oz. Now we can h...

How do I increase my bowling ball speed?
So much conflicting information about this subject. Old school says raise the ball, new school says lower the ball. I've just had a lesson from Jasnau regarding timing but we didn't get into ball speed other than he wasn't in favor or raising the ball. I've tried lowering the ball and moving back an...

Bowling Lane Differences
There are different bowling lane manufacturers I'm presuming. Bowl.com I'm also going to assume puts out the "standards" to manufacturers for producing those lanes so we get something similar from lane to lane. Now my question....If I'm a tournament bowler and I know there are differences ...

Midlane Puzzle
I have been experimenting with all sorts of balls, patterns, surfaces, etc. and I can't seem to get my ball to read the midlane properly. I'm either flat 10ing on slightly light hits or the ball is breaking to sharp. I've tried throwing to breakpoint, tried using arrows, tried using dots 6' beyond f...

Re: grip center from pap
I'm a freak about ball maintenance. I do keep up with that. Got my own spinner and cleaners so that's not a problem. Right now I'm throwing mostly "Pyramid" stuff. Most of the layouts are 4 x 2 x 4 or 5 x 2 x 3. I've got a couple of Storm, a couple of 900global and a couple Brunswick. I'm ...

Re: grip center from pap
Because I've got a low tracking semi roll release which I've had for 55 plus years it's pretty engrained in my game. Today's game is pretty much a power game with high tracks. I'll never get the power game but was trying to figure out a drilling that would give me more end over end but with hitting ...

Re: grip center from pap
Wow. I guess I didn't ask my queston quite right. I was thinking "Pin to Pap" being 6 3/4 inches. I'm told that will result in the ball rolling end over end with very little flare. My guess here would be if the ball was symetrical it would be very stable and if asymetrical I might get a li...

Re: grip center from pap
I did and thus my question. I have and it makes it pretty much like a left handers drill layout. At least that's what I have in my minds eye. I've had the ball drilled 5 1/2 inches from my pap which put the pin somewhere around my middle finger line. I wanting to know how the ball will roll if I was...

Plastic with a Core
I want to use a plastic ball to try and improve on my execution this summer. What's a plastic ball that has "other" than a pancake core? Something dynamic if such exists.
Thanks

My USBC Open Experience
By no means am I an expert on conditions and ball/style matchups but here goes.... 1st.....Don't sign up for practice session at $100 an hour. The shot is nowhere near the same. A waste of our money. 2nd....Team shot is completely different than D/S shot...way more than past years. 3rd.....I shot 18...

More forward roll
Is there a ball drilling that will allow me to get more forward roll without changing my release? And I'm talking about a forward roll that is effective. Pin closer to PAP does that but the ball hits flatter than I want.........I then in turn try to turn it more to stop that and get more hit. Dumb, ...
