Re: USBC Dues?
If your state shut down in March 2020 like most others did, that means you would have paid your 2019/2020 dues in August/September 2019 and bowled until March 2020. So you would have still "used" the membership for 6 months or so prior to the shut down. If your bowling center and league di...

Re: Storm Thunder Tape Equivalent
Motiv Flex Tape is also amazing stuff (I think it is the same as the Genesis Excel tape, actually). I was using Genesis Excel red, but switched to Motiv Flex black simply because I liked the colors better. Performance, adhesion, and durability is identical.

Re: Opinion: Keep ball reps out of active competition
Because, for the most part, they are all friends/friendly with each other. I have literally seen pros talking to each other and amateurs, giving suggestions/input. Is it the same level of help that they get from ball reps? Maybe yes, maybe no. I just don't see it as that big of an advantage. The bi...

Re: Opinion: Keep ball reps out of active competition
At first I was equating this, in my mind, to the relationship pro golfers have with their caddies. Then I realized that doesn't really work because the caddies are not employed by the company that makes the golfer's equipment. The golfers are using trusted associates with whom they have career-long ...

Re: High School Bowling
I agree. These restrictions don't seem all that bad if it means the high school bowlers can continue bowling. I wish the adult bowlers would pay a little more attention to the guidelines. It is downright dangerous what is going on in the local bowling center on busy league nights. Some nights there ...

Re: Anyone seen the Clutch Tracking system before?
I am sure there are profit considerations that go into what centers charge for bowling, but I do not think it is pure greed. There are many things that go in to the price other than new technology. The prices of these things aren't locked in forever and will increase pretty regularly. -Labor costs -...

Re: Storm Timeless- A stronger Hy-Road or something else?
I am doing more research on this and found this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WojclGD04w4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It is hard to tell what the ball does when Jason throws it because it is being used with 2 hands and no one that I know has his ball reaction. The yo...

Re: Storm Matchmaker - possible to make a universal matchmak
I also miss that Storm Matchmaker. It helped me select my first bowling ball ever, the Storm Punch Out. Sure enough it turned out to be good fit for my style. I am close to being ready to upgrade to a higher end ball. I wish the Storm Matchmaker was still available. I can't find anything close to i...

Re: USBC revokes certification approval of two Motiv balls
I really think this whole thing is being blown way out of proportion by the USBC. The ball received approval from the USBC prior to going on sale to the public. Something happened during the manufacturing process (worn out core molds or some other manufacturing issue) causing the undrilled different...

Re: New Balls Approved but Not Released
I have a question about new equipment that has been USBC approved or on the USBC approved list and not yet released by the manufacturer. Can this equipment be used in USBC sanctioned leagues though it has not been released as of yet by the manufacturer? I realize that the PBA has different rules an...

Re: Thumb molds vs thumb slugs
I was looking to compare thumb molds vs thumb slugs so I could make a bit more informed decision. I was debating on trying a mold this time around, but I wanted feedback on them. Additionally, I wanted to know if they are compatible with the Vise IT? My PSO used thumb molds for me for a while sever...

Re: is this possible?
I have been bowling for over 20 years. My PAP has never been measured and the current PSO I use seems to be able to lay out my stuff perfectly for me (and believe it or not has never really seen me bowl.) The only thing I told him was that I have a high track, and that was enough for him to know exa...

Re: Robert Smith Podcast "are heavy pins the answer" any vid
The day they resort to heavier pins to "fix" the high scoring "problem" (I wish I had such a problem), is the day I stop bowling. Those of us using lower weight bowling balls due to physical limitations would really suffer from heavier pins. I am fortunate to have success despite...

Re: Arsenal That the Pro Ladies Use
It is possible to be a competitive bowler using 12# equipment. I have to use 12# due to physical limitations, and am currently averaging 200. Last season my average was 205. I also bowl in tournaments every so often. There are some companies that use the same core shape in their 12# balls that they ...

Re: Ball Weight - Interesting Video
I'm considering dropping from 15 lbs. whenever I get around to buying new equipment. I found this video, and am surprised how well a 12 lb. ball seems to work. Since I'm almost 51 and have never been a strong person, I'm thinking, hmmm? I use 12lb equipment due to some physical issues. Give the bal...

Re: New Hammer Balls
A 3-year warranty doesn't really excite me. I don't even know what that really means. If I throw it for 2 years and something happens to it, what are they going to do? I doubt they will still be making that ball in 2 years. Even if they could replace it, why would I want a 2-year old ball? Feels li...

Re: Old Technology?
Good point I should do that but the reaction I get from his ball is pretty good. He just hangs a lot of ten pins with it. He had an old injury that messed his wrist up and causes him to release the ball in a semi-spinner way. Like almost a spinner but a little less than a true "spin like a top...

Re: Not the Average Ball Company
I recently returned to bowling after 6.5 years away from the game. I needed to build a new arsenal. Previously I was a Brunswick and Ebonite guy. When I returned to bowling, I started with a Storm Virtual Gravity Nano and a Brunswick spare ball. Fourth game back with the VG Nano was a 279. Incredibl...
