Re: What is BowlingChat worth to you?
I am happy to do video analysis in the coaching section when I have the time and the required angles in real time are submitted, but as far as I have seen, there have only been a few videos posted in the certified coaching forum so far this year. Thank you for that service, sir. I have just posted ...

Re: New advice for new rules?
Thank you Eric, I plugged the Revolt for now, no layout change.
The Jackal Ghost had to be redrilled to replace my Trident, which cracked
Red Legend I plugged the hole only for now.

Re: New advice for new rules?
Basically all the balls you had with Balance holes will be weaker with the holes plugged. This is assuming the balance hole were installed to strengthen. I suggest rolling them and see what you get for reactions. I expect lane conditions to change. I saw some change prior to the Covid. It really se...

Re: New advice for new rules?
Eric, I wish you luck in Michigan, here in PA so far we are tentative to start the season but who knows with everything happening. I will prob try some surface changes, especially on plugged balls, to try to offset some of the weakness, as I have seen a steadily declining strike percentage over the ...

New advice for new rules?
http://forum.bowlingchat.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=12810 The previous topic where my layouts are covered from 2014 and 2017. Because of the new rules, obviously all Mo holes are now plugged. My question is whether I should re-evaluate my arsenal to adapt best to the new rules and such. I have watc...

Re: New Ball Specs, Collusion?
I voted "dont care". At one point I was in the Yes crowd, but after looking into it and talking to some PSOs and other bowlers (tournament and elite level) I will just adapt. Alot of suggested layouts I have received here required no MoHoles, those that did I will have some studying to do,...

Re: An Inconvenient Truth, the death of league bowling ???
Things seem to be doing pretty well in Central PA. There's 5 main centers 16-24 lanes within a half hour drive of where I live (small town PA btw), and a few small "private" alleys (legions and the like 4-8 lanes) and most if not all are running leagues every night of the week (a few even...

Re: Advice Part 2 - Sport Shot Ideas
Update: All balls are drilled and looked good in initial testing. I have sent four of the balls out by Bowling Ball Express already but have to make an adjustment. I'm going to switch the Dark legend Solid out due to logistics sending my stuff back from Vegas. It may not get back in time for another...

Re: Advice Part 2 - Sport Shot Ideas
Update: I am taking the Red Legend Solid, Dark Legend Hybrid, and the Sigma Tour to be drilled today. Arsenal for USBC Nationals: 1. Spare Ball Plastic 2. Covert Revolt 55 x 3.5 x 40 (med sport) 3. Red legend Solid 30 x 4.25 x 55 (short sport) 4. Dark Legend Solid 55 x 3.5 x 35 (asym bench) 5. Dark ...

Re: Advice Part 2 - Sport Shot Ideas
Thanks Eric. Good suggestions and good catch on the Jackal. That gives me some options as shown below. Updated USBC Arsenal 1. Spare Ball Plastic 2. Covert Revolt (med sport) 3. Red Legend Solid (short sport) 4. Dark Legend Solid (asymm bench) 5. Dark Legend Hybrid (low flare) 6. Sigma Tour or simil...

Re: Advice Part 2 - Sport Shot Ideas
Eric, You are correct. I will do a low flare layout on something. Question: Does it have to be a strong ball like the others (Dark Legend Hybrid) or can a Sigma Tour do the job? Is the intent of the Low Flare layout to used on a "stronger" ball to be controllable/predictable on tougher/low...

Re: Advice Part 2 - Sport Shot Ideas
Thanks again Eric! You are the best! Updates. I have the following drilled or in process: Long Sport - Jackal Ghost Med Sport - Covert Revolt Short Sport - Red Legend Solid That being said. I am heading to Vegas for USBCs on short notice on May 9, bowling May 12-13. Any recommendations on what to br...

Re: Advice Part 2 - Sport Shot Ideas
Eric Would these be benchmark balls for the various patterns? Which lengths would you consider for short, medium and long? I think I have the Short covered with my Gamebreaker 2 Gold at 30x4.5x60, very close layout match. Thanks! I just reread this and saw the Gamebreaker 2 is symmetrical. So this ...

Re: Advice Part 2 - Sport Shot Ideas
The above layouts are for Asymmetrical balls. I would not recommend a Symmetrical for long oil and the Octane burn I think is not strong enough. I would go with the Covert Revolt for the med condition 55-3.5-40 P3. For the long I would go with the Jackal Ghost 30-5-35 P3. Eric Thanks for clearing t...

Re: Advice Part 2 - Sport Shot Ideas
I suppose you could consider them as benchmarks for the different lengths. They would be the first ball out and your going to use them to start breaking down the condition and then transition to different balls based on what you see happening on the lanes. Short <38' Med 38'-42' long >42' Thanks Er...
