Re: Need tips for playing on Boardwalk with my arsenal.

Ended up playing mostly with my spare ball, got too much reaction with the other two balls I brought, for the first two matches at the same center. In the 3rd match, which was at a different center, but the same pattern, I ended up playing with the Timeless inside the lane launching it out to board ...

Re: Need tips for playing on Boardwalk with my arsenal.

What is it with people with zero tilt always saying it’s special lol Never said it was special. It is however unusual in non-two finger bowlers. JJ.JPG This shows your initial track with 0* of tilt, any less, as in Negative tilt it will hit the thumb hole. In the video shown in this thread I would ...

Re: Need tips for playing on Boardwalk with my arsenal.

Marvel Pearl: 85° × 3 1/4 × 75°
Inferno: 60° × 3 × 50°
Timeless: 55° × 4 1/2 × 45°

PAP has moved to 4 3/8 right, 2" up. So my layouts are not the same as when I drilled these 😅

And I'm not trying to do anything at all, I've played like I play for 12 years...

Re: Need tips for playing on Boardwalk with my arsenal.

You're misunderstanding me. I'm a full roller only by tye definition that I got 0 tilt, but I don't have my track between my fingers, which is the other definition. In my eyes, full roller means you use the full circumference of the ball as track, which 0 tilt bowlers do. It's been discussed here be...

Re: Need tips for playing on Boardwalk with my arsenal.

Can't drill new,, I'm broke, and my pap is so high up, pin under doesn't exist for me  1 1/2 up on my pap last I checked it some while ago. But I know what you mean. Also, when I get to drill new equipment, since my pap is so high up and I full roll (in the 0 tilt definition of full roller), ho...

Re: Need tips for playing on Boardwalk with my arsenal.

Define a smooth layout, just to be safe. What range is smooth? By strength of cover, I'd say my balls go Marvel Pearl, Inferno/Timeless (not sure here, Inferno can MOVE, Timeless can too, but more on the fresh than when it's dragged down), Shadow Ops, Virtual Gravity Nano (due to deadness), Widow Sp...

Re: Need tips for playing on Boardwalk with my arsenal.

TL;DR:
Out of these balls, what would you use with my specs, and what would you do with the surface of these balls to suit playing on short oil? :)

Need tips for playing on Boardwalk with my arsenal.

We got a nation wide bowling league in Norway, like Sweden, and we got 3 matches in two different centers, all 3 matches are away matches, and all on 35' Kegel Boardwalk, which is a really bad pattern for me with my low tilt mid-high RPM and low-mid speed. But I am one of the better overall players ...

Re: Anyone still using the Century 100C Oil Machine?

Remember that too high wick pressure against the roller can also stop the oil flow, so make sure you don't have too much pressure on it before diagnosing the wick! :) Might save you some money.

Re: Anyone still using the Century 100C Oil Machine?

Can anyone tell me: 1) Where to get a new felt wick for a Model A Century 100 machines and 2) How to change it? [It looks like it's just 'Jammed' in.... no screws or clamps to hold it in place] Thanks 1) Your QubicaAMF distributor is my bet, Century merged with/got bought by AMF, our old lane machi...

Re: Want to learn basic fitting - need guidance

Your PSO told you not to read anything written before 2015. I am going to suggest getting some books. One written by Bill Taylor, who died in 2009. Taylor wrote a book about fitting a bowlng ball. I believe all measuring and fitting methods are based on Bill Taylor's work. Taylor also designed some...

Re: Want to learn basic fitting - need guidance

You really need to assess and measure the bowler's hand. Twin brothers came to me one day for bowling bowls, the boys were 14 years old. The measurements were different so I would not recommend a generic measurement for any bowler. Reason for me asking about the coke can, was more of a special case...

Re: Want to learn basic fitting - need guidance

Your PSO has definite ideas as to what you should do. While you do not plan to do any ball drilling yourself, you could ask your PSO if he can provide the basic training needed for you to measure a beginner's hand. The drilling of bowling balls can be done by that PSO. I suggest that you tell the b...

Re: Want to learn basic fitting - need guidance

I do have a question about lateral thumb pitches. I have tried the spray can printable sheet, and with my span at around 4 1/8, well, I need more lines up top. Then again, I do just under 1" left pitch in my current equipment, so it might be correct, and my hand is just FUBAR. Not sure how I should ...

A place to start would be the bowlingchat wiki in the Pro Shop Information section under fitting: Proshop Information http://wiki.bowlingchat.net/wiki/index.php?title=Proshop_Information Start with the IBPSIA Fitting Guide 2013 and the Morich Fitting Instructions those should give a idea of where t...

Want to learn basic fitting - need guidance

Hi! My bowling club has gotten a lot of new junior players the last couple of weeks, and the closest pro shop is 500km away, the closest pro shop I really know and trust is 920km away. This is a huge issue for our recruitment, and while I won't be able to learn how to drill balls, due to a too small...

Re: Making adjustments when when playing deeper angles.

They have weird rules for these leagues. If you are in a mixed league and there isn't at least 1 member of the opposite sex, then you forfiet all of the games. I just didn't want us to forfeit them all because it was my fault I am hurt and couldn't do anything. Its not your fault, nor your issue, i...

Re: can't stop pulling it.

Do you think because Randy Pedersen says it, its true? Two-handed and two-finger is easier to get revs with. And that attracts young people: Shortcuts. 30% of people playing casually (open play) under 30 play with two fingers here. The few that take the step up to joining the local bowling club str...
