Re: Brunswick brands?

The Phaze 2 and Jackal Ghost both have less than 50 games. Tge All-Road maybe 100. I have returned to factory surfaces. I have not detoxed or completely resurfaced any of them.

Brunswick brands?

In my Monday league I started at the beginning of the season throwing an IQ Emerald 20 to 8 with no hand. When the weather cooled off I went to the All-Road on the same line. A few weeks ago I found that the IQ Nano Pearl with the factory surface went longer and stronger than the other two, so that'...

Re: Ball selection help

Thank-you for that information. I have another question. The house I bowl in on Monday hooks quite a bit more. On the fresh I am starting near 20 with my hand out of it to get it down the lane hitting 8 at the breakpoint. Until a month ago I was only able to use the IQ Emerald. I think because of th...

Re: Ball selection help

I updated my specs in my profile. I didn't use best day specs. I didn't know about the signature until you mentioned it so I looked for and found it. My next ball will be for the long heavy oil.

Ball selection help

I had a pretty good season last year in two houses having been working with my coach Ron Hatfield. This year I am bowling in a new house on Wednesday. It has a completely different shot that I've only seen once in 30 years. It's called long heavy oil! It's nice having to actually work at finding a r...

Creating the Difference

I joined CTD as a regional staff member. I have not used any of the offered benefits as of yet. Not being one to post on social media, I thought I'd give it a try anyway. I have posted twice on their members only Facebook page. I thought this may be a good place to post my thoughts also. I am 56 yea...

Re: Thumb Tape won't stay on thumb

How has the tape been? For years I coated the back and sides of my thumb with super glue because new skin would only stay on for a couple frames. Since tape has come out, I have tried a few with no luck. A couple of years ago someone gave me a piece of Genesis tape to try. At the end of the night I ...

Re: Bowling Math

Glenn, thanks for the response. I am surprised at your findings. We worked through many examples of the first formula and seemed to be correct. I believe it was from Super School. Are you saying that the answers are incorrect? It is very confusing. The second formula is just to get your feet in the ...

Bowling Math

I have two formulas that I was given for lining up. The first one takes into account breakpoint distance and the second does not. The first one is: BP = Z+X(D-Z/15) = board @ breakpoint Z = board @ foul line X = BP distance D = board @ 15' Is this formula still valid? The second formula is: Target B...

Layout questions

After quite a few years of bowling poorly, I have finally took action in my equipment and my physical game. I'm sure mostly due to my physical game, I was having bad ball reaction with every ball I had. I had posted here previously about my balls burning up. Everyone kept telling me they were not, t...

Shout out to Ron Hatfield

In 2004 I went to my first Ebonite Demo Day. They were introducing the Blade and Diesel. I bowled so well on the NCAA sport shot that my wife was told I should be bowling in Regionals. I won a spot through the qualifier that year. I did ok finishing 64th out of 118. I had a problem playing up the tw...

Re: Thumb taping

I did say that Genesis is the first tape to stick. My question was on how to wrap the thumb. Even with the tape on the back of my thumb, I'm still getting an inconsistent feel on the front and sides. I sometimes need powder, sometimes rosin and sometimes nothing. I figured if I wrap it, it would be ...

Thumb taping

All of my 40 years of bowling, I've had problems with thumb release. My thumb will go up and down in size during 1 league night. I also have had to go back and forth from rosin to powder or easy slide. I used a lot of tape before I had my first oval thumb hole. That obviously was a big improvement. ...

Somehow it inserted the wrong post. I have never been on that post and I copied the link right from the address bar so I don't know how it did that. I'll have to search my history for correct post.

I am not able to view this. I followed both sets of steps above. I even downloaded a different software file viewer. I am using Windows 10. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Re: Oval holes

I just found this post http://forum.bowlingchat.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14847. This is exactly the information I was looking for. I am surprised nobody answered my question or pointed me to that post. Since I have an old press, I will mark the centerline and thumb angle, drill the pilot hole, th...
