Re: Layout advice for a Storm Crossroad
Assuming the numbers in your signature are correct, you are rev dominant which accounts for the ball flare across the pap. High flare ball, high flare pin placement, and rev dominance will do that everytime. As for the crossroad, I would increase the pin to pap distance and decrease the value of the...

Re: 14LBS ---> 15LBS
It is next to impossible to say how a 15 pound ball will change how you throw the ball. Changes in weight alters ball speed, rpms, axis rotation, axis tilt, and everything else differently on an individual basis. I have drilled heavier balls for people, and they threw the ball faster because their a...

Re: *NEW* - MOtion Hole - Video - How To & Demonstration
I drilled a used Siege with the MOtion Hole for a local youth bowler. He bowled at the Kegel Training Center today in the Teen Masters Qualifier. He finished 2nd and used the ball all 8 games on the shark pattern.
So far I've drilled 3 balls for people to try out and this is absolutely amazing.

So, if I have sarge Easter grip, do I drill it next to the conventional ring finger or where the ring finger would be with fingertip? Going to try it tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to all the new stuff from Brunswick. Watched the videos today and can't wait to throw them myself.
I'm also looking forward to anything that sells good in the shop.

Re: My Opinion- Swing Improvement
I see the same issue in both videos. The big problem with your swing is your feet. Your 4th step comes back to the right, and it puts your leg in the way of the ball as it comes down from the top of the back swing. This leads to the gap in your in your armpit, and your hand making its way around the...

Brunswick C System 4.5 Review
Layout: 70x5.5x45 Surface: out of box Company intent (from Brunswick’s website): With its Rough Buff finish, the C•(System) v4.5 will offer a lower friction factor with similar response time to friction alternative to the C•(System) 3.5. The new C•(System) v4.5 is best used on medium to oily lane co...

Brunswick Revolver Review
Layout: 70x5.5x45 Surface: out of box Company intent (from Brunswick’s website): With its 4,000 Siaair Micro Pad finish, the Revolver will provide good length with a strong continuous back-end reaction that matches up on medium to oily lane conditions for a wide range of bowling styles. My thoughts:...

Re: Layout recommendation for Track 300C
Given your other layouts, I would drill the 300c 60x4.5x30 to get the ball longer down the lane. This layout will reduce flare from the other drillings. Plus, you can still adjust reaction with a weight hole. This layout will get the ball down the lane longer to allow for the move down the boards yo...

Re: Storm Tropical Heat
I agree with matt. Start out dulling the ball with a higher surface grit like 1000 or 2000. Storm usually polishes their equipment at 500 grit using storm step 2 polish, so changing it to 500 and ext. polish is going to be about the same. If it is still too much, polish it at the higher grit.

Re: Video of a PBA Hopeful
Well, he pulls the pull down because he starts the ball so late. He has to catch up to get the timing back. The key to fixing this is to get the ball started sooner. Try having him bring the ball in a little closer and getting a little push away. He holds the ball out in front of him and just goes a...

Re: Video of a PBA Hopeful
Watching the video I see a few things that need a little work and that can help. First, his timing is off. It looks pretty good at the line, but he isn't starting the ball until step 3 which makes his swing late. Step 4, the ball is still continuing back, and that makes him muscle the ball down from...

Re: Searching for explanation of ball motion..
Assuming your rev rate is right, I'm going to guess that you end up rev dominant. Given that assumption, I going to venture a guess that you track over your thumb with both the 4.5 and 5+ layouts. On the 4.5 layouts you don't see the oil tracking over the thumb because the ball is flaring very fast ...

Re: What type of ball ?
Well, it really doesn't matter which you use. The benefit of drilling an asymmetrical ball is it allows you to control the placement of the PSA more so than a symmetrical ball. Symmetrical balls end up with a PSA near the thumb hole, but there is a degree of variance in where it actually falls after...

Re: The word "hook"
The biggest problem with the word hook is the emphasis on the total boards covered (the more hook). People always think that if a ball is strong it will always cover more boards; however, drilling a strong ball for dry lanes can lead to the ball transitioning too fast and actually not hooking that m...

Re: Layout advice
Assuming that the speed is closer to 16.5 or so because plastic shouldn't slow down that much unless the lanes are super dry. However, if you were getting 16 with a reactive ball as well, I am not entirely sure. I will give you my guess, but I recommend the same thing elgavachon did, wait for Mo. I'...

Re: Layout advice
I think that you need to nail down the speed a little better. 15-16.5 is a big variance that will change the layouts because it makes you either rev dominant to even. If you have a plastic ball, what reading do you get when you throw that the same as your strike shot. Plastic balls create less frict...

Re: What type of ball ?
All balls are asymmetrical unless you want to throw them without any holes drilled in them. I've tried that, and it doesn't work for me. High track and low track doesn't matter either. It actually depends on the axis tilt. There is a bowler in my center that has a very high track, but he has 27* of ...
