Re: IT vs Switch Grip
Mo uses a piece of black tape on the outside of the SG sleeve to tighten them up if need be. He says that's the only use for black tape. lol.

Re: NEED LAYOUT HELP
The Hustle Ink is a low differential. The 4 1/2" pin to PAP is going to reduce the flare. With a 65* VAL you have pretty much drilled the reaction of the core right out of it. If this lefty was rev dominant I would agree. Working from the Benchmark you figured factoring in the lefty factor and...

This specific drill, done the way Krava is doing it, could be done at home for free. Save time and money!RobMautner wrote:
The purpose of this is two fold: it teaches the feeling of rolling the ball vs. throwing the ball, and it teaches the feeling of staying behind the ball. It is anything but a waste of time!

I agree with Maine Man on the ovals vs lifts, also, get that man some hand cream. If the skin is real dry, like in the picture, it crack much easier.

Re: Fun one for you Eric
I was able to spin 2 symmetrical balls this weekend. Neither ball had the pin close to the fingers. I asked that as he drills no-thumb balls in the future that he spin them and send me a picture. The drill angle on the two-tone ball came out to be 125*. It was about 35* higher than where it was anti...

Looks like on page LM-4 the labels for reverse and lateral pitches are on the wrong pictures. Just FYI.

Re: Fun one for you Eric
My interest is piqued now. I've been out of the game for about a year now, but I may visit the shop this week and spin a few no thumb balls on the DeTerminator to see where the PSA ended up and where I think the Low RG is. Will report back if anyone is interested.

Re: Fun one for you Eric
It is not about where the palm is. The ball doesn't know or care if your palm is anywhere or if even you have a palm or not, examples Throbot or E.A.R.L. It is about the PAP and the initial track. The grip center is basically the center of removed mass. This the ball does know and care about becaus...

Re: I need fitting help
The only other thing I would think would cause that is the inserts being worn out or too tight. They don't appear to be excessively worn in the photo, so maybe you need to go up a size. Also, your hands look pretty dried out, which will make your skin crack easier.

Re: Getting the most of a 12lb core
Don't forget about surface adjustments to slow that puppy down. I went down to 12 lbs after my back surgery and getting to ball to transition was key for me. If it's still hooking, it's deflecting big time when it hits the pins.

1. It looks a little short to me because of the large bend in the knuckles shown in the bottom picture. 2. Ok. 3. Your lateral finer pitches should add up to at least 3/4" to allow sufficient depth before they intersect. The wiki guide fan chart pitches simulate pivoting the ball to your fan li...

Re: The core hitting the pocket...
I may have over-stated that it "settles into a lower energy/RG position". I was attempting to paraphrase the direct quote from the article. "The test ball loses energy and migrates toward a lower energy and lower RG values." I can see what you're saying from the simulation. I'm ...

Re: The core hitting the pocket...
In the real world, where the ball is rolling down the lane and losing energy, the trend will be different. The axis will generally migrate along the RG of the PAP, and settle into a lower energy/RG position. Steve This is not accurate. From the study you linked to, "While on the lane, RG value...

Re: The core hitting the pocket...
The pin rarely stands perfectly vertically, but the ball is generally trying to do this, it just doesn't have enough time. That's why I said "somewhat". I also think it depends on the bowler and the ball. When I use a long pin to PAP and with my lower tilt and forward roll, the pin is sta...

Re: The low flare layout on asymmetrical balls
I'd understand there position as the strongest psa to pap distance would be 3 3/8. ubfortunstely there is no set drill angle that correlates to that psa position. 3 3/8" pin to psa would be a 45* drill angle. And if you reference the Track Flare Study in the wiki you'll see that 50* gave max f...

Re: Video: "How NOT to "Hit up" on the Ball and Roll Better?
It is just as important, if not more important, to get to the foul line at the proper time. A lot of people become too fixated on controlling the arm orientation. If the approach is done correctly, the ball should flow when it's in the swing. Focusing primarily on the arm position will inevitably l...
