Re: What is BowlingChat worth to you?
BowlingChat has been an immense help to me. I think it is a forum any bowler should use as part of his bowling tool kit. I have had no problems with the moderating even in topics I have been involved in. I think any topics that were closed that I know of were appropriate. The wealth of information p...

Re: General COVID-19 and Bowling Environment Discussion
Ah yes Hill’s nine step procedure. Hill’s criteria for causation is debated to this day - here is a reference: Schünemann H, Hill S, Guyatt G; et al. (2011). "The GRADE approach and Bradford Hill's criteria for causation". Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health. 65 (5): 392–95. doi:10.1136/jech....

Re: General COVID-19 and Bowling Environment Discussion
My deepest apologies Glenn if my statement about the scientific framework to prove the existence of a virus was to vague. My bad. I assumed every one has read my posts from the beginning. I was referring to Koch’s Postulates. You can search for the details, but this is the gold standard used for the...

Re: General COVID-19 and Bowling Environment Discussion
Now to masks Glenn. I do not know anything about Dr. Rancourt’s political ideologies. I just look at the science. If you think that you can stop a mosquito with a chain linked fence than wear a mask. Because that is the same physical effect a mask has on stopping aerosolized particles in the nanomet...

Re: General COVID-19 and Bowling Environment Discussion
Interesting responses my bowling friends. Let me take these one at a time: This may also help out with TomaHawk’s comment, but Glenn you mentioned that there was a sharp increase in all cause mortality for two months. The all cause mortality data I have seen does show that there was a sharp peak rig...

Re: USBC Nationals for 2020 Cancelled - good or bad thing?
Sure TomaHawk. Glade to help. I will show you what you can do to find the answer since it appears the facts I provide so far do not seem to have merit. So if I provide any data set I am sure it will just be questioned. First one needs to determine if there is a rise in what is called the "All Cause ...

Re: USBC Nationals for 2020 Cancelled - good or bad thing?
Interesting discussion is it not my bowling brothers and sisters. It is amazing that one can argue about various observations (effects) and yet not one Randomized Control Trial (RCT) study can be referenced to prove SARS-CoV-2 exists and is causing any deaths labeled COVID-19 (cause). It is that sim...

Re: USBC Nationals for 2020 Cancelled - good or bad thing?
I respect your opinion in this matter deeply TomaHawk. I respect the steps USBC has taken. I think they had no choice in the matter anyway. I have seen many of these doctors opinions as shown in the Deseret News yet the basic scientific protocols and questions are never referred to and answered. And...

Re: USBC Nationals for 2020 Cancelled - good or bad thing?
Great to hear your reply, and thank you. This is a great place to have a peaceful intellectual discussion, because we all come from different walks in life with different ideas from our various professions to help each other enjoy bowling the best we can. And I agree it is wise to be cautious when w...

Re: USBC Nationals for 2020 Cancelled - good or bad thing?
It’s an innuendo, smoking is ok, don’t bring it indoors. It could have an adverse effect on others. We’re located in Michigan, precisely, the Detroit area. We were one of the original “hot spots”. Bars were allowed to open on or around June 8th. That would meet the timeline, including the incubatio...

Re: USBC Nationals for 2020 Cancelled - good or bad thing?
I am sorry. I am just some doctor with 33 years clinical experience. So let us take this one step at a time as MegaMav allows. What does smoking have to do with the Nationals being cancelled?

Re: Returning to bowling after COVID Shutdown
Great points TomaHawk. As one does some basic investigation into the interviews by the doctors I listed above one will become less troubled by this so called pandemic. So fear not my bowling friend and let's go bowling.

Re: Returning to bowling after COVID Shutdown
I agree completely. We all need to relax. A relaxed mind can think better. If one is concerned than they need to turn off the TV, relax the mind, and do some research. The TV news is designed to hype people up. The doctors who are experts in the fields of concern that I listed in my last response ar...

Re: Returning to bowling after COVID Shutdown
My bowling brothers and sisters I have been a practicing doctor for over 30 years and I am required to keep up to date on the science of health. Here is a quote from the World Health Organization (WHO) from just a week or so ago up dating their guidelines on mask wearing. “The widespread use of mask...

To keep from losing the touch I just throw several balls in the yard. I have a couple bowling balls that are specifically used for this purpose.

Re: Bad welcoming to new league with pissed off people etc
About thirty years ago a friend of mine asked if I would bowl with him in a handicap league for fun. I never bowled handicap only scratch at the time, but I said okay. After bowling three weeks and 9 games in the league the league members had a meeting and decided to kick me out of the league becaus...

Re: How many average games can you bowl before wrist pain
Interesting topic. When I bowled competitively, PBA regional events, etc., I never got any wrist pain. To this day near age 60 I may not bowl as much but I still do not get wrist pain.
