Re: Opinion: Keep ball reps out of active competition

Follow up question: If someone external to the competition giving information is the difference between winning or losing, making the cut or missing, cashing a check or not, are the results of competition a true reflection of those competing? In my opinion "they still gotta make shots" argument is a...

Opinion: Keep ball reps out of active competition

I tried this topic on Facebook yesterday and it got a lot of response, even from a ball rep active that day. Seems bowlers not associated with ball companies agreed and those with ball companies disagreed, vehemently, for good reason. It's their business, product, even position they're defending. Ve...

Is there a minimum number of posts before you can post an image? That's a common practice in forums. . .

I have a Radical Zing I want to drill with a short pin layout for a wet dry, (left to right), house shot. Mo Pinel gave me my base layout which is 45° x 4 1/2 x 30°. How much should I modify this for a 2" pin.
2" Pin to CG?

Re: finger pitches forward and reverse

Is there pressure on your thumb in the thumb hole at any point? It is possible your pitches are correct for your anatomy, but the shaping is not. Personally I have extra flesh on the top left front of my thumb and causes pressure on the back right knuckle, could be fooled (I was!) into thinking more...

Re: finger pitches forward and reverse

Mega... Would slow motion video focused on the hand at release be a good way to look at this? I know in the coaches section they want actual speed video to be able to evaluate timing and tempo, but I'm thinking you want to see how the ball is being released from the hand. As long as I can see the h...

Re: finger pitches forward and reverse

I'm having trouble getting a consistent thumb release and my ball roll and hit is just garbage. My speed isn't super fast, but I just have a very small pocket and don't get the carry that I should. Been trying to bowl with more forward in my thumb and more lateral right, but I think it is just caus...

Re: Pin length

CG location has approximately 2-4% bearing on ball reaction. Safe to ignore.
Surface changes and bowler shot variance accounts for more.

From my understanding they can be re-engraved with ANY serial number and be legal.

Re: Does the type of ball/core matter when measuring PAP?

Different core shapes affect how the ball sits in the hand and pulls on the hand at release, thus, even the "in the air" PAP will be different.

Re: Does the type of ball/core matter when measuring PAP?

Here is a question to ask: Does the average PAP of a bowler across the cores matter?
If we need to get within 1/8" on PAP to PASS/FAIL on ball motion, we should be putting it in orbit.

Re: What is a fair handicap system

Based on book THS averages, I like:

100% of 180 on SPORT
100% of 210 on THS

If you want more pins, get better.

It seems the popularity of handicapped events became popular approximately the same time participation trophies were offered in award catalogs.
