Re: Something different and funky

Your release specs tell me it doesnt really matter what you put on a ball as long as the Pin to PAPs on symmetrics are over 3.5 and on asymmetrics under 4.5
Your release is very heads and midlane environment dependent. Not good for versatility!

Re: Might want to get ready for long term storage of your balls.

My opinion on why balls crack:

Unfinished wood ball racks.
Wood absorbs like a sponge when left unfinished, drawing our stabilizers from a very small spot over a long term.
Sand ball exposure edges on the rack with 400/800/1000 sandpaper and do 2 coats of polyurethane.
My problems went away.

Re: Bowling Entities, Proprietors Address Coronavirus Concerns BUSINESSSLIDER by Gianmarc Manzione 2 days ago

Here in Michigan all restaurants, bars, and places of recreation have been shut down by decree of the Governor. Basically we are under Marshal Law. I had just hit a stride with my bowling game just in time for the tournament season. This is totally disappointing. One thing I can guarantee is worse....

I'm looking to use it as a spare ball and then for a primary when things are completely torched at Nationals. Something along those lines.
If you're doing that, you're in the wrong part of the lane, especially at 375RPM.

Re: Arsenal help

Some good balls there, especially the Fearless and Tenacity Grit.
If you get some release specs or even a video we may be able to help more with ball selection.
Need PAP and video to recommend a layout if full specs cant be provided.

I do surface by hand.
More direct pressure, more true finish to the intent of the abrasive.

Move your feet around, sounds like you play too far out and transition on the back allows you to hold pocket later.
Move in to start.

I'm guessing its probably the full yank and the bottom of the swing.
Worst thing you can possibly do for repeat-ability and long term health of your game.
Your body is the vehicle to deliver the ball, take care of it.

Re: Lost rotation

It is not the worst thing in the world, especially on competitive patterns. Try playing straight in the block. Straight up 12 with some surface and see what happens. I doubt its as bad as you say.

My thoughts on PBA telecasts I've watched lately

I think the bowlers start too far left and dont allow the pattern to develop close enough to the left to right taper. This makes the hook spot develop in the flat part of the pattern and push carry down to the right down lane (ball is going right), the telling sign is the scores, they dont go up, bu...

Re: What did I just see? How To Increase Your Rev Rate Bowling video

I see house shots are now the litmus test for bowlers.
Do what this guys says if:

1. You want to get hurt
2. You put zero premium on accuracy
3. You think rev rate is a measure of ability.

Re: Looking for a little help with angles...

I have a hunch that Johnny Petraglia gave that advice in a time before balls had self-hooking cores. It's a whole lot more difficult to "flatten out" your release to get modern balls to go straight. Just watch most high average league bowlers who still try to follow this archaic advice and see how ...
