Re: Layout advice

I like the Nuclear Cell for your low flare set up. 16# specs look really good for what you are after.

Re: Layout advice

If your dealing with a lot of friction it it could give you a go to ball. As for the Proton PhysiX, You are right in the fact it is a Strong ball. 2000 is also pretty aggressive out of the box. You will probably want to smooth it up a little play it more matte than dull. It is also a High differenti...

Re: Layout advice

The Short Pin Asym will be an interesting layout for you. By this I mean with 20* of Tilt your Sweetspot is a little bit in the opposite direction favoring longer Pin to PAPs for Asymmetrical equipment. Not that it can't be utilized by someone with higher Tilt. Chances are that you will favor a more...

Ok so is my benchmark layout for symmetrical going into to be a pin up layout I’m thinking? My span is 4-1/2 inches cut to cut and I use a thumb slug
Speaking very generally yes.
Pay attention to Pin to PAP distance to control the amount of flare.

Re: Layout advice

Yes that's correct. It really limits what you can do with Layouts on Symmetrical equipment. The Drilling angle can no longer be manipulated. It is based on where the thumbhole is in relation to your particular PAP. If you want to know what the drilling angle actually is, measure it to your Thumbhole...

Re: Layout advice

You are a little bit Rev dominant. Benchmark 105* Total, 1:1.25 Ratio Asymmetrical Layouts Totally Strong ............... 55-5-30 Midlane ....................... 35-4.5-50 adjust to pin in the ring finger Benchmark ................... 60-4.25-45 Long and Strong ............. 80-4.25-45 Control ........

Re: Made some changes, need layout tune-up

Just a touch Rev dominant. I would Benchmark you at 100* Total and 1.8:1 Ratio Asymmetrical Layouts Totally Strong ............ 55-5-25 Midlane .................... 45-4.5-35 Benchmark ................ 65-4-35 Long and Strong .......... 85-4-35 Control ..................... 65-3.5-55 low flare ........

Re: Ball for a straight shooter

Hi everyone new to the forum and just joined a local league. I'm trying to find a bowling ball that reacts to light to medium oil lanes and made for straight shoots like me, any recommendations? Welcome to BowlingChat Which one would be good on a light to medium oiled lane? Interesting, hadn't real...

Re: layout advise for high tilt on THS

i am drilling a results solid. my tilt is higher than 20 10 inches across my track. axis pt is 5 over 7/8 up. I still think the 40-4.5-65 is a good layout for this ball. It is a Strong ball in both Core and Cover. It is a House shot league. Adjust the surface Dull if the speed is actually there or ...

"The higher tilt helps counteract the rev dominance you have."

I see the release stats as speed dominant.
When calculating in the effect of the tilt, Yes, speed dominant.
When only looking at speed to Revs 12-14 mph to 300 revs starts to push the Total angles up. Tilt brings them back down.

Re: layout advise for high tilt on THS

The higher tilt helps counteract the rev dominance you have.
Lowering the totals 5* and making the Ratio .25 lower at 1:1.25

How do you want the ball to react?
What line of play are you looking to use?

Re: Just for fun: No-thumb layout (fingers in the MB), pin about 8 inches out.

The smaller VAL angle is a factor along with the shiny coverstock for the added pop. The larger VAL will smooth out the transition at the breakpoint and push the Roll phase further down the lane. 2" Pin to PAP still has a decent amount of flare on a higher differential ball. Another option within th...

Did you go with my 40* VAL or 55* that Tony recommended?

Re: Laying Out Old Urethane Balls

Rolling it on the lane with your strike ball release and using the oil rings is much better than trying to use wear marks on the ball.

I thinking of getting a bowl maybe to help my shoulder out so, im not forcing the bowl down the lane just so it hooks in. What bowl should i look into getting. I was thinking pyramid antidote or a pryamid path rising.
Are you considering a lighter ball to help with rehabbing?
