Re: Clipping thumb hole late

I pay close attention to pro layouts.. just to see what they are using... I see the long pin on val layouts on syms and asyms. We did it for longer / heavier patterns just to see if it works for him. So far have not had a chance to test on anything other than house shots that do not have enough volu...

Re: Clipping thumb hole late

Glenn... This is a special layout some of the Storm Staffers are using.. ALLEGEDLY its to create length and a very late breakpoint. If you pay attention to some of the storm guys on tour you can spot it pretty easy. Pin is 2 or 3 inches above ring finger and to the right.. which in most cases will p...

we drilled both fingers deeper... helped a little bit, but still flaring over the thumb. We will just live with it.

Re: Clipping thumb hole late

I picked up this ball on the cheap.. was a 2H'ers ball so i only had to plug the fingers to get it where i wanted it. Eric, I think your spot on with this.. and maybe the layout just isnt for him. but it gives us something to work on. Assuming i cant get him paired up, and since we can't use weight ...

Clipping thumb hole late

We tried one of storms different layouts on a Proton Physix for my son. 4 1/2 * 4 * 0 Pin is on the Val. Ball rolls really well with a very late sharp breakpoint, but after the ball transitions out of the hook phase into the roll its clipping the thumb hole about 2' before the pocket. Normally befor...

Re: High School Bowling

Yeah that actually does happen, Many players hold the ball up to their mouth to blow warm air into the thumbhole. Hmm I wonder if they have the blowers on the ball returns turned on? Because someone might hold their infected hand down there and it might blow contagion all over the place. i see peop...

Re: Is this ball drilled upside down or wrong?

That particular ball has a longer cg to pin than most commonly drilled bowling balls, that makes drill pattern look unusual. And, the fact that you are a no thumb bowler makes it look even more unusual. There is definitely something the pro shop operator noticed when he or she watched you roll the ...

Re: Is this ball drilled upside down or wrong?

That hand stamp is SUPPOSED to be where the palm of your hand would be. Honestly if you use that ball, and bowl against someone who is a stickler for the rules.... That ball would be out. As there is no way your palm would be in that position. Going to be interesting to see how many people get calle...

Re: Is this ball drilled upside down or wrong?

Correct me if I am wrong.. but.. even a 2 finger 1 hander.. There must be an X on the ball the same as a 2h is required to have. It designated where the palm is supposed to be so you dont have a "2 in 1" ball.
