Re: Bowling games price increase

While were on the subject....

What is everyone paying for lineage in leagues? In my local area (akron/canton OH) the non chain houses (3) vary from 9.50 - 11.5 the AMF house is 13.5

From what i understand if you move up into the Cleveland general area it varies from 11.50 - 13.50 non chain.

Re: High RG balls

I drilled my Wild Streak 5 * 55 pin over middle finger cg pointed at thumb. Cover is a little stronger than advertised ( go figure) Ball adapts well to hand position changes. 2pc construction and the carry FOR ME is really really good. It seems to me that letting it lane shine a little bit helped it...

Re: Male & Female Technique, Equipment, & Scores

Due to some arthritis and carpel issues i was forced down to 14lbs 4 or 5 yeas ago. At first i had issues with speed, namely over throwing it. But in time i became consistent. I really did not see much difference in scores with 14lbs, but sometimes there is a noticeable difference with ball specs be...

Re: Brunswick purchases EBI

How do you "get adjusted" to food being taken out of the mouths of Americans; all in the name of the almighty dollar? Here in NE Ohio the Chevy Cruz plant was shut down costing 1700 jobs not 100s. Either way it sucks, but it is a part of life. Word is EBI was broke, would you rather the plant shut ...

Re: Change is coming... BowlingChat Upgrade to PHP7.2/phpBB

Thanks for what you do Eric! Appreciate your hard work and what you personally have done for the bowling community. I for one don't use Facebook because of all it's issues ie. Facebook and Cambridge Analytica, etc, etc. So, I find your forum is still the best choice for bowling forums and chat. Sor...

ICURNVS , no implication of your awareness, position, or opinion intended. Human endeavors, actions, laws sometimes have unintended consequences. The architects of the law were erring on the side of caution. As someone already stated, age exclusion can be voted on in league meetings. Perhaps League...

Re: Leagues with underage bowlers now required Safesport

I am well aware of what prompted this. I totally understand and agree anyone COACHING youths should have to pass this. I had to complete backround checks every 2 years for the past 13 years to coach baseball (at my expense). But to expand it to anyone who competes in a event with youth to have to t...

Re: Leagues with underage bowlers now required Safesport

You think a 1 hour training is going to make people quit bowling with their kids? Yes.. yes i do The average person is quite lazy and wont do it. And yes the USBC is involved. They will be the people who punish sanctioned bowlers who do not comply. Why make rules that are just impossible to enforce...

Re: Your Most Memorable Moment In Bowling?

As a youth bowler in the 80s Tommy Hudson had a house that the youth "travel league" bowled at on Sundays. Every couple years he would do a bowl with the pros. So when i got a chance to participate I saw Mark Roth, Earl Anthony, all these big names from back then. I got to bowl with ... Spider Web....

Re: Sanding a pearl ball to make it dull with more grit.

Sanding a pearl is definitely an option. Many people think a pearl needs to be shiny. I have found they play well with surface on them. 360 grit is extreme. The only reason I would sand a ball to 360 would be for a full resurfacing. 500 grit is the lowest I would go. I would have a 2nd ball at 1500...

Re: USBC says no more U20

So if you are in high school and bowl in a men's league you forfeit your right to bowl in high school competition Thats not entirely true... If your a youth bowler and the Mens league agrees to pay your winnings to a SMART account, then your allowed, providing all members take the online safty cour...
