Katana Assault
Hello all, it's been a few minutes since my last visit. I needed to research a few things from the past and visit the wiki. I hope all is well!! Forgive my shameless plug for a new ball coming out soon that I designed for Radical. I am very excited about this release and we have several new Radical ...

Re: Sym vs Asym
The polarity of a weight block, core design, has a lot of influence too. We have said numerous times that core shape matters and it couldn’t be stated enough so I appreciate your post. The geometric shape has everything to do with the amount of gyroscopic potential that can be achieved with a bowli...

Re: Sym vs Asym
Because of the PSA, the Mass Bias strength. The stronger it is the greater the gyroscopic effect and how it influences Tilt. I shouldn't have said, "does not exist with Symmetricals" , but rather is very weak in Symmetrical balls. I would like to add that the strength of the Int RG axis a...

Re: Mo's new layouts
Mo’s intention for the new layouts was to make it easier for people who may not have the knowledge base or understanding as many of the people on this forum. He always had the goal of making bowling more fun for more people. A common part of my work for Mo was to virtually drill bowling balls to det...

Re: Xeno Full Roller Layout P1
Well, I owe Dustin another public apology for not getting this done after I said I would.... I have been working on this project and wanted to share some results. I am not finished but wanted to share something. I placed balance holes left of the pin/thumb and another in the PSA for a comparison. I...

Re: New Determinator Videos from Mo
Great videos and glad you are combating all the fallacious information out there. In the last video, I wanted to point out to everyone that it was a coincidence for the PSA to coincide with the endpoint of the line from pin through CG... If the balance hole was smaller, the PSA would not have shift...

Re: Xeno Full Roller Layout P1
First of all, my sincerest apologies to Dustin for not replying earlier than now. I am going to model the layout in Solidworks and place a few different balance holes to see how the mass properties change. Could you post a picture of the Xeno please? Do you remember the pin distance that you used? ...

Re: Cores 14-16 lb balls
I have been told that although the shape and size cores are the same in balls 14-16, they actually don't weigh the same. Is that true, any explanation would be greatly appreciated. The density of the core is changed to attain the various weight of balls. So yes the cores are generally the same size...

Yes sir. That is correct.AJCZAR wrote:
So basically, if the PSA is closer to the Negative Axis than the Positive Axis, than a hole in the PAP could actually push the PSA further away and increase the drill angle? Am I understanding that correctly?

Re: Hole on PAP
I think you need to consider the distance of the PSA (after drilling, but before balance hole) when saying if the hole on the PAP will reduce, or increase the drill angle. For example, assuming the bowler is right handed, if you drill a hole 1" to the right of the thumb hole, you will reduce t...

Re: "weak" ball and "strong" ball
Comments in yellow. Have you used a determinator? This theoretical stuff is fun and all, RG contours, PAP migration paths, but it doesnt affect how I tune a bowling ball for a bowler. I have no real control over how those things occur, but I can affect core shape to get the bowler what they want. T...

Re: pin over ....pin under
Radical's "Finger Scoop" and the Storm's "Thumb Cavity" are pretty much opposites. The scoop cores are designed to either penetrate, or not penetrate, the core in specific areas based on the chosen layout after drilling. This allows for versatile drilling options and different w...

Re: Interesting Find Today On The Determinator
Matty, how big/deep is your thumbhole? It's a higher diff ball, which means it should be more difficult to move the PSA off the equator. edit - and what weight is the ball? Urethane or vinyl slug? Because the pin is so stable and will not shift as much, the PSA will generally stay close to the orig...

Re: Interesting Find Today On The Determinator
I'd say most of the time when I spin up a symmetrical ball the psa ends up in my thumb hole. Usually it's even on the left side of my slug. Today we drilled a Moxie pin in ring with cg kicked right for a potential hole to be added. The ball post drill had the psa spin up a good 5/8 LEFT and 1/2&quo...

Re: Question for Steve (MathIsTruth)
Steve, How big a hole (approximately) would be needed into the pin to drill a 0.05" diff symmetric ball back to 0 diff? Is it even possible to do so? I know it will depend on core geometry, just looking for a ballpark estimate as to how much the diffs can be reduced. TIA, Robbie. Robbie, Sorry...

Re: RG Values
M4R10, Good to hear from you again! It has been a while. I look forward to thinking about your hypothesis and Excel spreadsheet in a couple days. I will say that traveling around the ball will create a sinusoidal model. I have always used a cubic equation from Low RG to equator because it is easier...

Re: Motiion Hole on pancake cores vs PBA plastic ball layout
I have a question about removing the extra weight. what would the change in reaction be if you removed extra weight drilling the fingers deeper vs the weight hole on the VAL. That is assuming that it is possible that drilling the fingers deeper would be able to remove the extra weight. is there any...
