Re: Sym vs Asym
I look at it this way. Asymmetricals give you more options for reactions. A 5 to 6 inch pin to pap on a symmetrical ball will put the ball in a high RG orientation at release, which can create a quick reaction to friction and a sharp hook angle, but the 5 to 5 1/2 inch pin will usually reduce the fl...

Re: finger pitches forward and reverse
Is there pressure on your thumb in the thumb hole at any point? It is possible your pitches are correct for your anatomy, but the shaping is not. Personally I have extra flesh on the top left front of my thumb and causes pressure on the back right knuckle, could be fooled (I was!) into thinking mor...

Re: finger pitches forward and reverse
I'd like to see the technique of you throwing the ball. Seems release issues are a repeating theme, unless I'm mistaking you with another user. 17* of tilt is perfectly fine with most bowling surfaces being worn. Yep, same guy. Same release issues... Just want to go with what the charts say I shoul...

Re: finger pitches forward and reverse
See if you can get to these links.. I know I rotate the ball in my backswing. Coach Jasnau has seen it live a couple of times and doesn't see it as something to correct. He says it is due to my tendons / limited joint rotation in my shoulder . FYI.. I have now gone to a 5 step approach to help with ...

Re: finger pitches forward and reverse
I'm having trouble getting a consistent thumb release and my ball roll and hit is just garbage. My speed isn't super fast, but I just have a very small pocket and don't get the carry that I should. Been trying to bowl with more forward in my thumb and more lateral right, but I think it is just cause...

finger pitches forward and reverse
I'm refitting my hand and trying a new span and pitches. Is it ok for the middle finger to have more reverse than the ring finger? I have a less flexible middle finger joint and need to have more reverse. How will this impact my ball roll? Going from 4 3/4 span (M & R) , Middle 0 L, Ring 3/4 R. 0 F/...

Re: storm sure lock
This ball was one of the best balls I have ever thrown. And probably the best ball in the last 5 years for me.. But after 6 months the ball is a dud and doesn't react and carry like it did new.

Re: Pain in Thumb Joint
put your thumb on a line around the bottle that is between the index and middle finger. That is how the fitting tubes by Mo are made. I like to look at it on a line between the middle and ring finger, since that is where the thumb hole is.

Re: Anybody experimenting with 3oz finger, thumb or side wei
Do you think it would have enough effect on a slower speed lower rev player to make a noticeable impact on ball motion and carry? I think it would. It really depends on how slow we are talking. I know some seniors that are rolling at 11 to 13 mph( off the hand) with an end over end roll. Put the we...

Re: No black tape
The premise: 1) Textured white tape in the front to improve the grip 2) Slick black tape in the back to tighten the thumb hole and provide a quicker release My 2 cents, why would you ever put anything in the thumb hole that is shiny and slick to tighten the hole? I don't believe that black tape sho...

Undo the set screws and align the blade so that it will be equal when you rotate it at 0 - 0. Of course make sure your press is calibrated and accurate at 0 - 0. Might be the cutter... might be the press.

No black tape
I saw on another post that Mo does not like black tape. I have never heard this. What is the reason for this? I've always used black tape in the back and white tape in the front, but I think the black tape and the use of Vise hada patch or similar product may make the ball come off my thumb too quic...

Re: Anybody experimenting with 3oz finger, thumb or side wei
This may be true for someone with your rev rate, but my experience as a stroker with higher tilt (225 revs off the hand, 20-25* tilt) is that top weight and side weight helps the ball tip over into a roll on oily conditions giving it more continuation, less deflection, into the pocket. But I know t...

Re: IT vs Switch Grip
I'm using Turbo switch grip and I'm ready to go back to vise. My switch grips never fit the same between balls.. some are super hard to turn and some don't even click at all and come out super easy. I've lost one in the pit. Before I had separate thumbs for my spar ball I had to have my thumb redone...

Yep.. BTM and Youtube. I don't think BTM reviews are as great as they once were, but their comparisons are still pretty good.Mongo wrote:BTM and YouTube.

Re: The core hitting the pocket...
Check out some of the intial MOtion hole discussions. Mo talks about gyroscopic inertia and how that helps go through the pins and carry. I believe he talks about the core position at impact and what is beneficial for carry. On a side note, Earl Anthony always wanted the ball at its maximum rpms whe...

I think that was the point about drilling a 7 inch thumb hole.. to create similar dynamics to the motion hope. .. Maybe no need for the actual balance hole motion hole

Re: Where do you really want the top weight?
When I did some experiments with Blueprint, I noticed a ball with a 3 oz top weight (with no weight hole) had a similar motion (hook and increased entry angle) to a ball with a motion hole. The top weight had more of an effect if the ball flared in a way so that the 3 oz of top weight ended up on th...

Re: Vise IT on Inception DCT Pearl
It says right on the ball to not drill deeper than 2.75 inches. This makes a no go for Vise IT with these balls.
