Re: Wanting to try two handed ...

I refuse to accept two handed bowling. I don't believe it is the future of the sport (as USBC often makes it seem), however it's as valid as granny shots in basketball, sidearm pitching in baseball, switch hitting, etc. It's here, it's not going anywhere (and, despite some opinions, it's been aroun...

Re: Double Thumb question

On a side question, what differences in reaction will you get when you change the drill angle of the double thumb layout. Like for me double thumb is 60* x 4" x 30*, so lets say if i went 35* x 4" x 30* with a P4 weight hole what kind of difference in reaction will I see. Is it just going...

Re: Intermediate Differentials

Ebonite shelf talkers give decent info, but they do not list int did for all weight as different either. They do have different rg and total diff though.

Interesting.

Re: Pin Buffer

the pin buffer is the "Old school" way to see things. Going extint alongside the old PAP-Pin X PAP - (MB/CG) drilling method, and static weights. It was an attempt to add more credibility - by this I mean improve the accuracy and precision - to an inexact system. The rest is as stated above.

StrikeTheory wrote:Pretty much go with any layout you want. You can knock out 2 ounces easily with a balance hole.

I'd just lay it out, weight it up, and see where you stand afterwards.

I'm curious about ending with too much finger weight due to the cg being above the midline, and the weighthole being so far below

Craze - offset cg

Mo, et al I was gifted a Craze recently, and have been trying to figure out how to punch it out, but have been at a slight impasse, as the cg is 2.5" to cg, however the cg is 2" right of the line from pin to MB. It is a second, but the free price was worth not passing up. Luckily, however ...

Re: Storm Advanced Drilling Instructions question

Hello, I'm looking at http://www.stormbowling.com/drill-specs/advanced.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and have a question. Specifically, I'm looking at layout #3. To me, this looks like a typical stacked leverage layout. Can't I just arc 3 3/8" from the pin and 3 ...

Re: 75 x 2.25 x 30 Evil Siege

Mo, You know my driller Rich Huzina aka Captain Canuck?? I think? Anyways, we have been experimenting a lot with your drilling methods with great success. The evil mentioned above works well with my standard release, but when I really get around it I see the pin actually migrates to the axis point ...

Re: Release Question

I've watched those videos several times. I have trouble differentiating between how the forward motion of the arm and hand causes the hand to come up versus what the bowler is doing with his hand during the release. I'm just trying to figure out if they are rotating their hand around the side of th...

Re: What can be written off for tax purposes?

Should probably ask the person doing your taxes. I talked with the women who did mine a year ago in reference to something else(won a photo contest) and she advised anything where you win money and get a 10-99 on it you can write off your equipment. So for the contest since it was just the camera g...

Re: Gradient Line change

Is this new information true for symmetrical and asymmetrical balls. Are we to always use this 6.75 distance from the PSA to PAP then up the VAL as P1? Also if this 6.75 distance is constant the spacing between P1 and P4 will always be the same distance. On symmetrical balls is there still the two ...

Re: Need advice

I bought some MC but none of my thumb holes are big enough to accomodate it. Are my holes drilled too small? P.S. Mabalasik are you bowling in Italy? The magic carpet should be cut to proper size. the width of the flat part of the back your thumb is the width the carpet should be cut to. It takes u...

Re: Would drilling a ball with a conventional grip help?

Here is a picture of the MOjave I have been using: 1219001015.jpg My pap is 4 1/8> 1/2^ Axis tilt is around 20-25 degrees. Axis rotation is around 35-40. Revs around 350. Speed is slowish, around 14-15mph at launch. Surface is at 2000ab with light polish. Last week, to use this ball and my natural ...

Re: Gradient Line change

This topic just makes me curious why no P5 hole option? Is there any reason for only 4 possibilities? Isn't it interpolation between the least and the most change anyway? With 5 options you'd have 4 divisions equally space (instead of 3 or thirds) and this can be quickly determined by a mark "...

Re: Would drilling a ball with a conventional grip help?

Always reading, listening, learning... I wonder if I took an older ball and had it measured now in dual angle terminology, what the numbers would look like... just a though, thanks for all the info. Take a look. remember to use the correct MB when calculating drill angle. It requires a determinator...

Re: Would drilling a ball with a conventional grip help?

Matt, why doesn't USBC drop the requiement of a balance hole to keep balls "legal" if weights mean so little? USBC is a large beaurocracy, with many moving parts. It's hard to change one, especially given the misinformation available to the other arms. Large governments believed the world...

Re: Would drilling a ball with a conventional grip help?

Matt that's interesting, you neglected to mention off line cg's? Now why don't you take a shot at the original question? Should he change his grip to conventional? Offline CG, also doesn't matter. They have no ingrained differences. The only reason one might find value, is if there's a stupid high ...

Re: bal hole?

Mo has discussed this before, so I will give the reason he gave. "Once the fingers and thumb are drilled, Mo spins the ball on the determinator to locate the new high rg axis. Then drills based on this. The holes alter the location of the MB/PSA. The Gradient is drawn from the new high RG axis ...
